Most of us are used to Bioware’s Knights of the Old Republic and Mass Effect games, and the older crowd even remembers Baldur’s Gate. I still remember when they said they were doing a Sonic RPG. We all have our questions - but for one of the first official Q&A sessions about Sonic Chronicles, move beyond the jump.
Set for a third quarter 2008 release, apparently, the platform is the Nintendo DS. Ah, if only I could bring up those old rival conversations of Sega vs Nintendo and Sonic vs Mario …
Some highlights for me were that Bioware is still focusing on story - I remember the original sonic comics, the TV show and the games for Game Gear and Sega. I even had the Knuckles game on 32X so if they can make a real story out of it - surely Robotnik will be there - then I’m all for it.
The Q&A does not get into the game as much as it does the development cycle. You won’t find out about the combat system or control features as much as you will how the game came about, how Bioware is handling the transition from 360 to DS, and questions in that vein.
Go here for the interview with Mark Darrah who is the project lead.
Thanks Gamasutra.
