Hunter’s Challenge Reopened
W. J. Pullhearst
Elralad Calil-Galdur, Onedrinydd of the
Scholar Monks of Ai’Bron, announced days ago that the Anebrilith Hunter’s
Challenge has been started again. It was only one or two days after his
announcement that it was postponed. He spoke from a balcony in Anebrilith,
and appeared very rattled and shaken.
“We apologize for the instability these
actions are causing, and we assure you that the Scholar Monks of Ai’Bron
bear no responsibility for the actions.” At this point, he looked upwards,
and said, “We can only imagine that the gods themselves are toying with us.”
A disgruntled citizen of Anebrilith was
heard afterward, saying, “He’d better hope the Gods don’t leave him alive,
because he’ll like the way I toy with him a whole lot less.”
Due to threats like these, the
Onedrinydd are reported to have taken security precautions, and all members
of their council now travel in pairs, with at least two bodyguards.

Ramir Cries Treachery
W. J. Pullhearst
The Radasanthian Councilman, Merk Ramir, announced late
last night that his son, Merk Ramir II, and the Elven general Findelfin ap
Fingolfin are to be considered highly dangerous enemies of the state. An
anonymous source says that the Elven general arrived late in the night
yesterday at the Council Hall of Radasanth, and pleaded with Ramir to
dispatch troops to a village under attack by Orcs from Concordia. Ramir
refused this offer, and left Fingolfin.
However, our reports confirm that Ramir II took
Fingolfin’s side, and provided Fingolfin with nearly an entire cavalry
contingent of the Radasanthian Army. Fingolfin departed with these troops
immediately, to Ramir’s great displeasure.
“This is an outrage, that my own son would betray
Radasanth and our people.” said a very disgruntled Councilman Ramir,
“Whether orcs attacked the village or not, my orders were explicit. There
was and is a very heavy possibility that Findelfin ap Fingolfin is an
operative without the best interests of our people at heart.”
But the councilman didn’t stop there. He continued,
his voice rising to a fevered pitch, “All those who followed Fingolfin are
traitors to this city and to this country. Those cavaliers that left with
the elf may seek pardon, but there will be none for Fingolfin nor my son.
For their crimes, their lives are forfeit.”
As of right now, the mood in the city is tense. Many
citizens supported and lauded the Purifiers, Fingolfin’s former group, but
many citizens also stand firmly behind their councilman. With such high
tensions, it is a wonder all of Radasanth doesn’t explode under the strain.

Adventurer’s Club Disbands
W. J. Pullhearst
Closely following on the heels of the Purifier’s recent
dispersal is the loss of another group near and dear to the hearts of many a
citizen in Radasanth. The Adventurer’s Club, a group co-founded by Andrew
Pendleton Lueni and Aremelwen Mass to improve the skill of its members via
quests and special events, was recently declared disbanded. Lueni delivered
the announcement.
Many members of the Althanas public greeted this with
great sadness, having become used to seeing adventurers in and around their
city. However, some merely shook their heads with resignation. “We knew it
would happen someday,” said one housewife and mother of seven. “The
adventurers used to come play with my kids, but they didn’t anymore. I
guess they’re suffering from what we all suffer from – apathy.”
Despite this announcement, however, Adventurer’s Club
insiders say that it may not last. Many say that Aremelwen Mass disapproves
of the move. Although Mass was unavailable for comment, many have indicated
that she may put her foot down and refuse to allow her co-owned group to
disband.
For now, however, Radasanth will miss the Adventurer’s
Club.
Interview with Santh Til’Garos
Few figures in Althanas are more enigmatic and
reclusive than Santh Til'Garos. Known only as the "General of the Elvestin,"
Til'Garos has long been considered a shady figure, even if his dealings are
on the level. Upon hearing this, our interest was piqued. We sent our very
own W. J. Pullhearst to speak with Til'Garos, and W. J. had this to say:
"I'm afraid this interview is insane. Til'Garos left us with more questions
than answers."
- The Radasanthian Reader:
You're known as the General of the Elvestin. Could you give our readers
some information on this group?
Santh Til’Garos: The Elvestin are actually a secret group of
whatchamacallits, that live somewhere in Radasanthia, and generally do
some things that will help some people in some area live a better life.
- TRR: Ah,
so in other words the word is mum! Are the Elvestin made up of Elves, or
do they accept members of other races?
STG: Our number is made up of Elves only, but I'm sure if there are
any beautiful women that are out there...grrowwl..... (rustles hair) we
could make an exception of sorts.
- TRR:
Hah, I'm sure they'll appreciate the offer. It's been rumored that you led
the attack on Serenti about a year ago. Any word on why?
STG: Well, it wasn't really an attack...let us just say that I went
there all alone, and came back with a few gorgeous ladies and a real stud.
What that stud just happens to be, I'll leave that up to your imagination.
- TRR:
Interesting. Can you give us a little bit of information as to when the
Elvestin were founded?
STG: Well let me think about it for a sec. I'm thinking....still
thinking....kind of thinking......I forgot. No wait! I remember. It was
nearly 515 years ago, and we were founded by the great Xeritan!
- TRR: And
who would this great Xeritan be?
STG: He was the original founder of the Elvestin, jabroni! I just
told you that. He was from the homeland. But after some court politics, he
migrated over here, to the island. I wasn't born yet when he came, but my
parents said he was a great man. His son is a Lieutenant of mine.
- TRR:
Fascinating. Do the Elvestin have any plans in the works that it would be
okay to tell the general populace about?
STG: Well, we've never had anything to tell the general populace.
What we do is in their best interest though, I can assure you. The fact
that I've let you here, to talk to me, in my private abode, is about the
most media coverage we've had, well, since we were founded.
- TRR:
Rumors have been heard recently of a small, select group of Elves
operating out of a base in Raiaera. Do you know anything about this group?
STG: Whoa, whoa, hold on a second here. There are Elves in Raiaera?
Really? Who was the brilliant thinker that hypothesized that there are
small, select groups of Elves in Raiaera?
- TRR:
I’ll take that as an admission of ignorance. Anyway, that’s all the time
we have. Thanks for being willing to share a little bit of yourself and
your group with our readers.
STG: You're perfectly welcome. Now amscram!

That elf is at
it again. I’ve only been in this city for a month, and already I’m hearing
more about Findelfin ap Fingolfin than I care to know. Isn’t there anyone
else who goes on newsworthy jaunts throughout this world? If so, I’d like to
hear about them.
Fingolfin’s latest jaunt has gotten his head pretty much on the chopping
block. Not only did he blow the Horn of Velicë Arta in Raiaera, setting
himself up for trial, but he’s gone and stolen five hundred of the
Radasanthian Army’s best cavaliers. If he keeps it up, he’ll have more than
undead to worry about, because he’ll be six feet under.
But the fact of the matter is that Fingolfin isn't hurting anyone. He's been
made out as a crazy and slightly deranged elf by Councilman Ramir, and it's
an outrage to even presume that the elf is trying to kill or hurt Radasanth
or Radasanthia in any way. The histrionics of Fingolfin are quite bad; the
theatrics of Ramir are equally contemptuous. Both should just learn that
they are sheep at heart, and dressing each other in the garments of the
wolves won't change their nature.
Did You
Hear?
By Moe Wordsthanu
With another week come three new articles of juicy
gossip. Our first story is about a little demon war that took place in
Salvar, lead by the former demon Ziegfried. This demon, doing the
do-gooders job, raided four demon outposts, each guarded by a general of his
former master. For this task, Ziegfried enlisted the likes of Eleric Aduro,
Zephrys Lightblade, Leona Stevvains, and even the demon-man Frame. All in
all, it was quite the odd juxtaposition of allies.
Lets talk about some mystic news now. People have seen
Ryoki Nishoba, former love interest of Sei Orlouge, with his childhood
friend, Kylin Rouge. There has to be something big for these two to talk
with one another and not have Sei involved. Perhaps there is a secret plot
invested within the two of them to kill the self-proclaimed ‘Protector of
Radasanthia’. I wouldn’t blame them, Radasanthia has enough would-be
‘heroes’ trying to do right all the time, what’s one less?
Finally, The Adventurer’s Club has finally disbanded,
as order of it’s only remaining leader, Pin. Just their luck, they get a
war declared on their posteriors by The Bandit Brotherhood! It seemed as
though the days of old are coming to an end, what with The Purifiers gone,
Adventurers no more, and Façade ushering in a new era from the Ice Reavers.
What else is to happen in the Power Groups of Althanas? What other
conspiracies could be made?
Well, it’s about time that I end this article. I guess
you won’t know anything about your favorite Althanas names without my word
until next week. Until then, Moe Wordsthanu retiring for the day!
