A new Phantasy Star game for the Nintendo DS was announced in Famitsu’s latest magazine. Sega stated that the new title, Phantasy Star Zero, will support up to four players, have multi-player WiFi capabilities, and even a nifty feature for players to be able to draw sketches within the chat system. Phantasy Star Portable was released in Japan a couple of months ago, and it is selling very well (500,000 copies shipped after the first week it was in stores), so there is a bright future for this Phantasy Star title for a possible release elsewhere. Phantasy Star Zero will be out in Japan this winter.

Edit: According to TheMagicBox.com, Phantasy Star Zero is a prequel to Phantasy Star Online. Fun stuff.

The Super Nintendo Entertainment System is known well for its great selection of RPG games and series such as Breath of Fire, Chrono Trigger, Dragon Quest, Final Fantasy, Lufia, and this could go on for a long time. Well, there is also another great title that was released in 1996, and it so happened to be Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars developed by Square.

Let us do some adding here:

Square + RPG + Mario = Hell Yes

Super Mario RPG was a big hit on the SNES, and it still remains to be one of the most highly played RPGs to this date amongst gamers. The game provides an awesome experience thanks to its colorful graphics, wonderful soundtrack, and so much more. If you did not manage to buy it back in the day, do not fret! Nintendo released it again on the Wii’s Virtual Console in Japan, Europe, and in North America yesterday. Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars can be bought for 800 Wii Points ($8), which is not too bad considering the original cartridge itself runs a tad bit higher.

If you have not played this fantastic RPG, we highly recommend giving Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars a shot. Most likely you will enjoy the game.

In a recent edition of Famitsu, there is a little special section on a new RPG by Jaleco named Ougon no Kizuna for the Nintendo Wii. The game’s scenario features pencil style graphics drawn by Miwa Shouda, who worked on notable games such as Legend of Mana, Saga Frontier, Final Fantasy XII, and Little King’s Story. Youichi Kawaguchi, also another team member of Little King’s Story and even Dragon Quest VIII, will be the director and programmer for Kizuna.

The player will be in control of the game’s protagonist, Liam, and will use the Wii remote for some enormous battles, and bosses are said to have weak spots for the gamer to use the Wii remote to help take the boss down. With the main story included, Kizuna will include over 100 quests for extra game play. Jaleco mentioned the release to be in Winter of this year in Japan, but there has not been any announcement regarding Europe and North America. Stay with us for more information about Jaleco’s Ougon no Kizuna for the Nintendo Wii!
