Since this year, particularly this summer, seems to be THE YEAR for great blockbuster hits, I thought it'd be interesting to find out if you would recommend the last movie you saw in the theater to other posters on the forums.

The last movie I saw was Iron Man. I took my 6 year old nephew to see it. Before he had expressed an interest in going to see it, I wasn't very interested in going to see it. My brother, his fiancee, my parents, heck-- even King Zeal, were all telling me I should go see this movie. It was "epic," or something to that regard. But I still didn't believe anyone because I'm a penny pincher these days and didn't think it'd be worth the $10.50 a piece ticket price (it was only 50 cents cheaper for my nephew to get in!). So I took my nephew. I was actually very pleasantly surprised! I thought it was probably one of the best comic book movies to date. It seemed like it took a little while to get the story started, but once it got started it was non-stop awesome.

I would -highly- recommend Iron Man to other posters.

What was the last movie you saw in the theater? Would you recommend it to other posters? Why or why not?

Indiana Jones 4
Hell yes. It is a damn fun movie, even if the CG effects are a bit too much.

Needed less CG and more stuff like the previous 3 films, but it was a pretty damn fun movie, anyway.

If you want a silly and kickass action movie, you can't go wrong with Indy. Recommended.

That would be Hairspray, last July, and yes, I would recommend it. It's a lot of fun.

The last movie I was in the theater was The Incredible Hulk. I certainly enjoyed it enough to recommend it. I thought it was a very solid version of the franchise and that, unlike the other movie, recognized that it was a genre flick. Plus it had lots of Hulk smashing stuff.

Last movie I saw in a theater was T3.....good action flick, if nothing else. Kristanna Loken is definitely easy on the eyes.

Seriously? You haven't been to the theatre since Terminator 3?! Holy hell, Blue. You've missed out on a lot of good movies. Go on a date, you hermit! ;)

Also, I just saw The Happening last night and I totally recommend it. It was some pretty ****ed up stuff.

Iron Man was my last, as well. I'd recommend it. Even to people like me who never picked up the comic book. Its pretty predictable but has good action.

I really want to see The Happenening. I actually wanted to see it the other night, but the theater we went to wasn't showing it. We had to settle for The Strangers. It was real crap, too.

My last movie at the theater was Iron Man and I would recommend the shit out of it to anyone including my 80+ year old great grandmother.

That movie is the tits. It starts with AC/DC's Back in Black while Tony Stark is drinking in a Humvee wearing a badass suit and tie and it just 126 minutes of awesome. Downey Jr. is great as Tony Stark, the effects are complete badass and everything is just the total tits.

I was never an Iron Man fan but this movie made me a complete nut about the character.

I might watch The Incredible Hulk today and that M. Knight Shaymalan crap, it looks ok but it will surely fail.

My last cinema trip was to You Don't Mess With the Zohan. I would reccomend going to watch the first 20 minutes or so of it, where Sandler is kicking ass as an invincible Israeli super soldier, just histerical stuff. BUT, only if you can get in for free, and only if you have an escape plan for the remaining hour and 40 minutes.

LagDragon

I liked Zohan, but I can totally see why some people would find it stupid and racist. I'm a huge Adam Sandler fan, so I laughed my ass off.

I don't get out much, the last movie I saw in theaters was Knocked Up, which I loved.

I certainly was not offended by anything in the movie. It was just.... boring. I started people watching in the cinema I was in during the latter half of the movie. And for the record, I have liked a number of Sandler's earlier comedies, notably Happy Gilmore and the Waterboy. So it's not like I feel I'm beyond laughing at his lunacy if done right.

LagDragon

It's definitely not high on my list of favourite Sandler movies. I'll give you that.

I love Billy Madison and Happy Gilmore.

Last one I saw was Indiana Jones 4 on Friday night, and I guess I would recommend it. Overall it was a good fun action movie, and the plot was awesome. I just liked what they did to the whole idea. The only thing was that it was extremely over the top (the action was just a bit too crazy, but whatever, I guess it's fine in that kinda movies). I also hate that kid (don't even know how to spell that name Labeof or something), every time I look at him I remember how annoying Even Stevens was. But it was good.

The last movie I saw in the theater was Zohan which I would recommend on the basis that shock/sexual humor does not bother you. I thought it was funny but there were a few scenes it could have done without. One scene was almost the most disturbing scene I've ever witnessed beaten only by the Kathy Bates scene in About Schmidt when she gets out of the hot tub.

Okay, I see nearly every movie that comes out...so...I'm just gonna do a rundown:

The Incredible Hulk : Unless you're a hulk fanatic or a HUGE Edward Norton fan, Skip it. It's not really any better than the last one, and Ed Norton agrees with me.

Iron Man : ****ing Awesome. Go See it. Then go See it Again. STAY THROUGH THE CREDITS.

The Happening : No. Just no. Someone, please, for the love of god, make this movie go away. I had a chance to be IN this movie(as an extra...it was filmed here, like all of M. Night's movies) and when I read the script I said "Forget this..." Trees? come on.

Prince Caspian : If you like Narnia, go. If you don't....go anyway, you will when you leave.

You Don't Mess With the Zohan : I find Sandler VERY hit or miss, but I thought this was hilarious because it's just so absurd it works.

Kung Fu Panda : AWESOME. Panda goes Kick ass. Worth the watch, especially if you like animated comedy stuff. Worth the money.

Indiana Jones 4 : Loved it. Was an excellent Indiana Jones movie. Just the right amount of Pulp Novel mixed with Campy Action. Go.

Sex and the City : Skip. It. Please.

The Strangers : Absurdist Thriller that just DOESN'T work. It could have been good. Forget it exists.

Baby Mama : Funniest Movie this year. ESPECIALLY if you like Tina Fey.

and....I was able to get advanced screenings of 2 other movies you might find interesting...

1.
The Love Guru : Mike Myers made this entire movie work and if you like his previous work, you'll laugh the entire time. If you're indifferent to Myers I STILL recommend this because it really is quite good.

2.
Get Smart : You could not have picked a better person to play Maxwell Smart than Steve Carrell. He Fits the part in EVERY way and this was a lot better than any other old tv show turned movie I can think of in the last 10 years or so. Maybe the best since The Fugitive. When it comes out, you should be there.

My latest theatrical endeavor was a failure of all dimensions... even those beyond current human comprehension. I decided to tag along with a group of friends to see The Happening. I didn't think much of it at the time, I hadn't spent much time with this group of friends in a while, and while I'm far from an outright Shyamalan fan I've found most of his films at least mildly intriguing. What I was subjected to that night made me want to comply to the 3rd stage of the happenings and kill myself via the nearest lethal thingamajig.

For the majority of the movie I observed the most horrid acting and scriptwriting I have witnessed since The Contract, yet all the while I felt like I was detecting an heir of intent on the part of Shyamalan. I was thinking the sheer absurdity of the characters and context involved in the story was just a stylistic detail employed by the director/writer to garner a certain response. Or perhaps he was alluding to something (perhaps a literary piece I was unfamiliar with) and I just wasn't cluing in to the overall joke. But then this theory was smashed after the celluloid turd had finished its projection and I conversed with my cinema mates. NONE of them had even the faintest idea what I was talking about when I mentioned what I felt I was detecting from the narrative quirks. I then went online and checked out some critics reviews and found more of the same. So I've just come to the conclusion... that this movie sucked, licked and in fact full out swallowed hairy crusty goat balls.

UGH!

You don't find Angelina Jolie attractive but you've got that biggum in your avatar?

WALL-E is off the wall fantastic. I disagree with the majority of the reviews that say that the movie isn't as good once they get into space; like every other PIXAR movie, the characters are what are so intriguing, and the dynamic between WALL-E and EVE is what makes it so fun.

Sunny Lane is a fantastic looking whore with an ass to die for and I do find her more attractive than Jolie. I dont think Jolie is in any way ugly or not complete devoid of appeal but I dont see what the big deal is, if anything, Monica Bellucci is at least a hundred times more attractive than her, but then again Bellucci might just be the most beautiful woman in the world.

As one of the few naturally beautiful pornstars out there, she is definetely one of my favourites.

The only thing that turns me off is that I once saw a news story about how her mother and father are her agents and all. That basically means that producers constantly discuss how a complete stranger is gonna stick his penis into her orifices and what kind of kinky outfit she is gonna be wearing with her mother and father. Twisted shit, cant they just hire somebody? I know it will be costly but come on.

I saw Hancock on Saturday and I kinda liked it, it was a shallow action movie that tried to show some insight into humanity and it was entertaining. I liked it, but wouldnt recommend it to people unless the want to see how baffling hot Charlize Theron looks in it. I have never been much of a fan, she seemed like a pretty face with nothing to it, even if she gets awarded oscars and praise, but on Hancock she looks retarded hot, particularly the first time she appears.

Hancock - not over here since they fcuking censored so many scenes and dialogues. Got to rewatch it again in DVD when it is out. Shallow as what Phakiel mentioned earlier. Little over-rated yaa.

Nanny's Diary - good storyline, educational, and best watched with your close family members. The black actress who was a sub-cast looks pretty fine.

Even if this looks like the dude's version of My Best Friends Wedding, it still looks like a fun little gay movie.
