Saw this on another site and thought it was interesting. As a gamer if you were given 3 wishes what would you wish for, this can include the past, present and future of games.

1) Wish for the Dreamcast to have actually survived and finished first in the previous generation battle. Sega probably would suck as hard as they do now if they were able to make it with the DC and they would probably still be in the hardware market as well.

2) Wish for Sony and Nintendo to have released the Playstation. It would have likely kept the crowded game market less crowded and Nintendo wouldn't have had those "darker" years with the N64 and the GC. It's hard to imagine how different things would have been if they had merged together to make the Playstation.

3) The GBA line hadn't died out because of the DS' success. Nintendo kept claiming that the DS was going to be the "3rd pillar" of their company and that the GB wasn't going anywhere. Well after 2004 and the crazed success of the DS, the GB series is now dead and gone. Too bad because it had lasted more then 15 years and would have been amazing to see it do more.

How about yourself? Wish that FF VII was on the N64? Wish that Microsoft never got into console gaming? Wish that a series never existed? What would you wish for?

1. I wish Sony would not have entered the market at all. I was perfectly happy playing Shining Force games on Sega consoles. Eventually, Sega couldn't compete with Sony, and my favorite series went down the tubes. Sub-wish to this is: The Takahashi brothers must make another "Shining Force" game that uses that same gameplay. They expressed an interest to do so in a new issue of NP. They just aren't allowed to use the Shining title anymore because Sega owns it.

2. Online multiplayer RPG explosion for Nintendo systems. The DS needs to have addicting action RPGs that you can play with your friends who may live anywhere. The Wii needs to have online RPGs as well.

3. No new Chrono game. CT was the worst popular RPG I've ever played in my life.

1. Ogre series revived.

2. Rareware brought back to its former glory.

3. I would like to see Nintendo's ego manifested, and then sodomized by a durian.

I can agree with the first 2 points Borg but perhaps not the last one. The DS would be pretty fun as an on the go multiplayer for and RPG. Maybe some of the ones that have been in development lately will be that way? I'm not sure. Shining Soul 3 could be cool if they develop it right and take away the tediousness of it. Probably wishful thinking though.

Shining Force needs a reboot, no question. Sega sucks for not realizing that already.

As for CT. Didn't you trade away Lunar:DS? You said that it was one of only a few games you ever traded away so it must be worse the CT, right? ;)

I suppose Lunar Dragon Song is worse. I mean, I forgot almost everything about that game from the little I played it, and I'm glad I did.

I just don't like CT because I don't like non-random battles that much. I think Mario RPG is the only game that did seeable enemies on the screen most correctly. I also didn't think there was such an engrossing plot. I wasn't a huge fan of the characters. I think I liked Robo the best, and that's pretty bad because if I cared about the game deeply I'd probably like one of the more main people the best. I also thought the tech system was only so-so. Perhaps it would have worked better in a nice, fast-moving FF game, that had 4-5 allies per battle instead. I also didn't like the world map. No enemies, tiny sprites for characters. I pretty much liked nothing!

I wish I could fathom why the game is popular. With my mindset, I cannot possibly understand how it is good, but obviously a million gamers disagree with me. Obviously it is me and not a million gamers. So I don't know what the problem is...

I think that it's okay to dislike CT. Haha, there are lots of games that are popular that I dislike, the entire FF series, Halo, and so on. Well have different tastes in games and what we actually enjoy. So I wasn't trying to call you out in that fashion. More so on the fact that I remember you said you disliked Lunar: DS so much that you traded it away and you almost never do that. So I thought you must have disliked that game even more the CT.

Some one could argue back that the 16 bit FF games had small sprites, slow plot and grinding and such as well. I think it comes down to your expectations in a game and what story/gimmick appeals to you more.

My wishes...

1. A new entrance to the video gaming hardware. Really hope Apple Computer is serious about it and kick Microsoft ass really hard.

2. Square-Enix will have no more delays in release of future FF titles.

3. All employers around the world will allow at least a one hour of video gaming break during office hours. If they don't implement it, they would need to subsidized the purchase of employee's game title purchases.

Extra: 4. All video gaming title and hardware purchased are income tax deductable/ can get tax rebate.

Seriously, I'd only wish for one thing as of this moment... Nintendo NEVER stops making Zelda games... That's always been my favorite series of games.

A second possible wish?
I giggle with glee to think of the concept of a NEW Solomon's Key... That was my favorite game as a child...and I downloaded it on virtual console, and am obsessed with it again. Yikes!

Third? Uhm... No more Mario Parties, I'm all partied out, yo.

In all seriousness I would wish that:

1. Previous titles I loved on the PS2(like KH and SO) would have their sequels on the Wii, and have really good Wii-mote commands, basically I would want amazing action RPGs on the Wii.

2. MMO for Wii and DS. Because they have free online system now all they need is good online games(Shooters and RPGs would be a good Idea)

3. Downloadable content available for SSBB.

I want a fifth wish! I also wish all RPG titles released in the future will no longer be exclusive for certain next-gen consoles. Is not fair! Make it as a universal international law where no developers can violate this coz is the law!

Wouldn't your last law potentially make every game suck? I mean you'd never have any exclusives and the competition factor for consoles would be thrown out the window. I realize that you stated RPGs in particular but I think that most games are put on multiplatform as it is anyways so it's not that big a deal. But it's still your wish, not mine. :P

1. A Star Wars MMO that doesn't suck. Hopefully this one gets answered with KOTOR 3.

2. Final Fantasy 7 Remake built into a PS3 Package. I'd buy that.

3. An RPG written by and directed by Me, Produced by Square-Enix, And have the visuals Designed by the team of Me, HR Geiger, David Lynch, and Neil Gaiman. With Special Effects and Graphics by ILM. It would be the best game ever.
