View Full Version : Can you feel the Wrath?
Wrath of the Lich King. How many of ya'll got it? How many of ya'll want it?
I'm not usually a release date hound (except for Harry Potter!) and can typically wait a few days to weeks to grab up hot new games/books/movies. But I gave in to the urge last night and got in line with the ugos last night to sweat and gasp over World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King.
So far, so good. I'm noticing a lot more storyline quests immediately. Having done about 20 quests so far, I'm a little bit happpy that my welfare epics are holding up to the quest reward gear. I kept thinking the last few months that my hours of Alterac Valley were a waste and that the drops from random monsters in WotLK would outdate them almost immediately. Also surprised how powerful the beasts are. My hunter can take 4-5 lvl 68-70 random world mobs fairly easily. Not so much in Northrend. A couple of beasts at once had me a little scared. But I triumphed.
One more thing that got me excited: my hunter is completely rested until 71. A pleasant surprise.
What do you guys think so far?

I did not even know it was out.
I'm still waiting for my new laptop and want to try out Warhammer if I can. After that, I might sucker out and grab WotLK.

I doubt I will be playing Wrath of the Lich King. I do not have the computer and internet connection right now for it, and by the looks of it, I am getting satellite by the end of the year or in January, and that does not help out my need for online gaming. If the time every does come, when I can, I probably will check it out. I never really got into WoW like I did FFXI, though.

I played the beta of it. While it was cool, it wasn't enough to keep me playing.

I foolishly bought it when I have two essays due on Monday.
I went into Alterac Valley with my Death Knight.
Apparently, everyone else did too.
Chaos ensued.

Is a Death Knight. . . kind of like a Dark Knight?

it's basically a mixture of a warlock and a warrior.

It turned out my special lady friend had pre-ordered it for my birthday, or I'd not have had it yet. I'm loving it, but with all the people online I'm just being constantly reminded how much I dislike a lot of Warcraft players. Too many people zerging everywhere it's worth being, asking how to do quests rather than reading the logs, grasping for as much epeen as possible, and debating pointless rubbish.
The game itself is all good, though. I've not replaced any of my visible gear yet, even though some of it is still basic 70 blues. I do like the skins for the quest greens though, so the level 74+ gear will probably be worth trading up to.
The Death Knight starting quests were hugely enjoyable, and the overpowerdness they get from their starting gear is enjoyable and appropriate. I'll be enjoying that until I'm ready to hit Nothrend with him, and possibly beyond, if I get that far.

With sexy results!
I'll be enjoying that until I'm ready to hit Nothrend with him, and possibly beyond, if I get that far. You'll have to upgrade gear starting around Zangarmarash; if you don't, your ability to solo elites 3 levels above you becomes jeopardized.

I'm almost 71. I'm enjoying the quests but am tempted to level through instances. Nexus really intrigues me (not that I know where it is).

Ok, so a Dark Knight. Cool.
What other classes have they introduced? New races? I have not payed much attention to news concerning this game.
Death Knight is the only new class, available to any race. There aren't any new races this time.

Gotcha. Thanks for the info.
Was anyone else rested through level 70 as I was? I mentioned it in general chat and no one believed me. My 70 hunter was parked in Garadar in Nagrand for about 6 straight months.
