Best news you've had this year?

So what's the best news you've had all year? There are three things that are amazing news that have happened this year.

#1. My Mom doesn't have Melanoma. She is still recovering from another type of cancer and had a growth on her arm, which had all of her doctors concerned that she had Melanoma. It happened to be a wart that was growing where she already had a mole, oddly enough.

#2. My 13 year old nephew decided to move in with my brother (his dad). His mother has custody, but her live-in boyfriend is an abusive asswipe. Even she saw that it would be best for him to be out of that environment. Everyone on both sides of his family (that is to say his dad's (my side) and his mom's) knew it was best for many years now, but he finally made the decision on his own.

#3. Despite budget cuts and my GPA being slightly lower than acceptable, I was accepted to the credential program at CSUF. I actually just found this out today and I felt like I was going to faint! I'm so excited! (Btw: Teaching credential program, in case you were going to ask.)

So what about you? What was the greatest good news you heard this year?

I work for a company that is worldwide. Meaning there's a site in Sweden.


But my HR has been trying to contact their HR, and there hasn't been a response yet...

In the past 2 months, my mom wrecked the town car, my sister wrecked her passport, and my brother managed to get T-boned, as he says, by an 18 wheeler while driving someone elses car on the highway. Everyone is alright.

Well... I make more money than I thought I would after graduation. And I graduated with a 3.73 GPA... that was preeeeetty good. Ummm... nothing really amazing happened this year at all to be honest. I'm counting on next year to blow this year out of the water, since it will be my first school-free year since I was 4 years old!

That had to have been a relief.

As for me, nothing in particular. Still waiting to see if I got accepted for the Pell Grant for my schooling. A little extra dough never hurt.

The number one thing would be last week when I saw my niece and she was up and walking by herself. She's two and was born missing half of her brain because of a seizure she had in the womb. She's also talking a lot more. She now calls me by my name instead of hey you. :)

Beyond that would be after I go my job for HP and that the cost to fix the body on my car was less than I budgeted for.

I'm sure I heard other, more important, things this year, but the best news I had this year was that At The Gates were getting back together for a 2008 reunion tour after having been broken up for over ten years. They did, I went, it was awesome.

You know, now that I think about it...

There were no good news in 2008! Everything sucked! What a crappy ass year!

In fact, there were just too many BAD news. George Carlin died, there was WAR in the Caucus, repression in Burma and China, the world economy tanked, and Obama turned out to be Clinton III. It's gotta be one of the worst years in recent memory. (Not like the rest were any good.)

In fact, the only notable thing I can think of right now (now that I see Raidou it reminded me) was that Spain finally won the Eurocup.
