I've been living under a rock for some time so I didn't know that Led Zeppelin had gotten back together but without Robert Plant. I used to be a fan of the band some years ago (before I stopped listening to music with any intent), and this comes as a big surprise. Not a particularly good surprise, but one none the less. I'm not too crazy about this idea at all even if Plant were on board.
With the band in search of a new front singer I stumbled upon this list at IGN. Just thought I'd drop it here.

Thoughts on the list or the bands reformation.
P.S. It would totally suck if Axel Rose joined the band.
first I have heard of this...it would be nice to see the Zep flying again...but I dont know about replacing Plant...and Atlantis Morissette...? I dont know. I have always love Zep...but replacing Robert Plant is impossible...

Hell, I had no idea either. This could be really cool, but Axle Rose, this could go really bad.
I would shoot someone in that case...

Either way this doesn't really bother me...

As much as I like the old Zep albums, I am not too excited about them getting back together.

I wished they made the London concert reunion a live album.
Jason Bonham is a good replacement for John, but you really can't switch out Robert Plant. While Page had more power (only slightly though) in writing and producing the music, Plant's voice made them unique. People also need to recognize John Paul Jone's ability as more than a bass player because he played more than just bass for many of their songs. He also played the mandolin making him the most apparent instrument in songs like Going to California and That's The Way. Page's role in guitar was replaceable in my mind and I know a lot of people will argue against that.
well none of the band members are really replaceable at all...thats why this comes as such a complete shock to me. I love Zeppelin...however I dont want them to end up like other old bands that come out from hibernating and ruining the old feel by trying to make there music more modern. but i would be the first in line to buy a new cd by them. they are my second favorite band of all time...and i already have all of there albums...so I would have to buy it just so I can say I still have all of them.
I've been following this story for a while. Although several sources still have Chris Cornell of Soundgarden as a rumored candidate for a Led Zeppelin vocalist, he's publicly stated that he won't be doing it, so it's annoying that I keep seeing his name listed. I'd hate to see any of the performers on IGN's list take the stage with the band, as Robert Plant is not replaceable. I don't care if they tour calling themselves something other than "Led Zeppelin", like how The Doors resurfaced under another title without Jim Morrison (though that was more for legal reasons), but Plant is a necessity for Zeppelin.

I don't mind all those oldies coming out of their graves and going on tour. I won't be going to see them because those types of shows are too crowded, but I guess retirement gets boring and people who love them will get a chance to see them.
I'm thinking a lot of those old bands aren't making as much music as they used to. They still get their royalties whenver a song is played, but they're not making any new albums and more people are downloading albums for free so they're not bringing in as much income from album sales and absolutely none from touring. They're probably just making extra sure they have more than enough funds to carry them comfortably through old age.

No Robert Plant = No Led Zeppelin.
And some of those suggestions are bizarre, almost retarded. If they replaced him with Jack White or that little girl from Coheed and Cambria (the worst band ever), they might as well jump off a high bridge and save themselves the shame. Alanis Morrisette? Axl Rose? Oh my god...
Even the good singers they put on there don't make any sense, not like I have any good suggestions. Maybe Ian Gillian or Steve Perry?

Nonsense.
Claudio Sanchez is not only an impressive vocalist, but was also heavily influenced by Robert Plant. Now I don't see why there is such a clear cut schism between hardcore Led Zep fans, and the casual fan who enjoys stuff like Coheed and the Mars Volta. Not to mention Coheed has released some of the most impressive prog-rock material of this age.
I don't see how one could classify them as 'the worst band ever' when there are clearly worse, but I geuss it comes down to preference. With that said, I still don't understand how a Zep fan could abhor Coheed to such an immense degree; it all seems a bit hypocritcal.
