1080p flat screen tv or a new desktop? Also tell me why you picked it. Both are being bought for gaming. TV for my ps3 and wii and desktop for all my pc games. TV is $768 for 42 inch philips.

I'd go with the TV because I don't expect too many changes in the PC market in terms of prices at the moment.

People who need high powered machines for things like art and rendering and large scale photo editing. And people who game on PC.

This relies on which you use more your computer or your PS3. I would lean towards the T.V. if it were me. However, I'd love to see a link about this T.V. because that's pretty low for a 1080p set.

People like me that do things with computers that make laptops cringe.

That's not a bad price. I suppose that depends on the computer you want to buy then.
