I've been trying to make my MGO ID, but whenever I click "Metal Gear Online" from the menu, it takes me straight back to the PS3 startup screen. Any ideas on what to do?

Well I know you have to download the latest online version, which takes a little while but after that you should have no problems making your MGO ID...I dont know why it would take you back to the PS3 Start up screen...thats a little weird. you do have to start your Online ID at the Konami Website so maybe thats why it is taking you back so you can try it there. I just used the link from the MGO main screen when I made mine.

I've played MGO one time for maybe 4 hours or so and it's okay. Seems like the people playing the game are really good though and it wasn't that fun constantly getting killed. That and the time spent trying to set the game up was a headache to say the least. I'd possibly play it again in the future but I'm not totally sure.
