What games have you played so much that you managed to Max out your characters?

The first two that comes to mind for me is Super Mario RPG and Paper Mario. Mostly because the cap on those games was so low and quite easy to obtain. The only other one that I can remember maxing out on are Blue Dragon (Characters, not shadows).

I've come close to doing so for a few other games like Mass Effect (close to level 60 which I suppose isn't the max out but gives you an achievement on Live). Fairly close on Lost Odyssey, some where in the mid 80s. Chrono Trigger (SNES) I was around level 90 or so with Crono.

I know some people here have done the big WOW max out and I'm sure a few other games. Which ones?

The only game that came to mind at first was Phantasy Star. When I played it back in the day I got stuck near the end of the game and had the brilliant notion that I needed to level up the characters more. So I ground on mammoths until I had maxed them all out. Then I discovered that I'd missed a corridor in a key dungeon. Oops.

However, I have realized that I could cheat with this by simply listing many Western RPGs. Many of them are designed so that simply playing the game will max out the characters before the of the game. For example, Pool of Radiance maxes characters out between level 6 and 9. That's easily achievable simply by playing through the game.

I don't think I have ever maxed out a character in any game. I just never had the patience to do that. It also takes the challenge when fighting the final boss.

FF6- Everyone lv.99, all spells.
FF7- Everyone lv.99, maxed all materia.
FF8- Everyone lv.99 (or 100, don't remember.), GFs as well.
FF9- Everyone lv.99, learned all abilities.
FF10- Filled in all empty nodes and made everyone go around the sphere grid (maybe twice.)
Xenogears- Everyone lv.99, learned all deathblows, best equipment.
Wild Arms 5- Everyone lv.99 (multiple times thanks to black market.)
Mario RPG- Everyone lv.30 and best equipment.
Tales of the Abyss- Max level, best equipment, max effects on all artes.
Tales of Vesperia- Max level, best equipment, all skills/artes, Yuri had 9000+ attack on my second playthrough with his fell arm equipped.
Kingdom Hearts- Everyone lv.99, best equipment.
Kingdom Hearts II- Everyone lv.99, maxed all forms, best equipment.

That is all I can think of for right now, but yeah, alot of extra time that wasn't needed put into these games. :D

FF6 (back in the mid 90's before the internet)
FF7 (took a few hundred hours)
FF8 (very easy)
Paper Mario (if FF8 was very easy, this would be very easy times 100000)
DW1, DW2.

Not much else I don't believe.

I think the only time I have maxed out characters was for Final Fantasy Tactics where I had Ramza with eveyr job mastered and at top levels.

I think I took the guys in FF7 over 95 as well and in Xenogears I probably have a file with the levels at top tier but I would have to look at my Xenogears memory card (I have one just for xenogears, yes thats 15 slots filled with XG data).

I don't think I've maxed out even a single character in any RPG other than FF8. I just stops being fun after awhile.

FF7, FF8, and Kingdom Hearts. I believe I got my characters in the high 80s in Lost Odyssey but thats about it. I normally finish rpgs with my characters no higher than 70s.

I've never even tried to max out my characters before, I never understood the appeal. I don't mind levelling up for the sake of playing the game and beating a hard boss, but I've never had the urge to level up my characters just for the hell of it.

SMT: Nocturne
Digital Devil Saga (on a new game+ though, all skills were inherited making things very easy).
