Why haven't I heard of Card Sagas Wars before now? It looks incredible. It's a PC fighter built on MUGEN, but it looks entirely professional. And fucking amazing.

I was interested in this game, but it's been so long since I've heard anything about it that it gradually became something I'd never actually see released, like Fallout 3 or Street Fighter IV. It hasn't seen an update since mid last year, so I dunno if that guy's still working on it.

Here's the homepage for anyone who wants to see a list of the sprites:

Amazing animation, I love it! I wanted to see Luminaire, though.

MUGEN never appealed to me, but this definitely would.

Looks amazing. Too bad it's not playable and probably never will be.

Yeah, I can't see him finishing that gigantic stack of cards with this level of detail on each one. I think it'd be better if he dramatically narrowed the scope of his project and updated incrementally. Follow a kind of Capcom Versus series sort of progression, you know?

That said, it looks like the typical Guilty Gear-inspired doujin fighter, with extreme mobility and really long combos that do crap damage. I guess I'm just too stuck on ST, but those rounds went on way too long for my taste. =/

I am very impressed. Too bad it hasn't had any updates as of late.

Really well made. I visited the site quickly and it seems as though the potential for a really interesting game is there. One thing I have to agree with Nickoten on is the length of battle. Seemed like all the special moves, except for what appeared to be super moves, did very little damage. I don't know if that is for balancing or not but seems too over compensated. Still a neat idea and well made. Hopefully they will release it.

I think it's probably because the trend in these doujin fighters is to feature moves that do excessive amounts of hits, and so the damage needs to be lowered to compensate. It might seem like they're over-doing it, but there's probably a lot of scaling to account for unforeseen methods of getting off really long combos and what not.

But of course, I agree and always preferred faster battles with higher damage.
