Hail and Well Met kids of all ages.

I have some hopefully terrific news for all of you. AllRPG.com is indeed coming back, starting as a base reporting site for industry news, release dates, preview/reviews and such other things as one might find on Kotaku and such. In what form? In the form of a WordPress Blog setup, and we'll expand from there.

I've learned quite a bit about WordPress and when the overhauled the interface, I took to it to check it out and the new features make it entirely feasible and a good idea. So...to that end....

WHO WANTS TO WORK FOR ALLRPG?

If you do, this is what will be required and expected of you:

UNBIASED Reporting. Meaning you can't say "this is gonna suck"....unless it's really really obvious. Be open Minded.
2 to 3 News Article submissions per WEEK. We'll be covering largely RPGs or anything that might fall into the scope of the old Elements setup, and if you're unsure, you'll be required to ask.
At least ONE article per week that isn't news. Might be a review(new game or old game), a preview, an opinion column, or something entirely different. We can talk about it if you have ideas.
Regular forum posting to keep this place going. We gotta breathe life back into the old girl.
Lastly, you need to have a firm grasp on the English language. Hiring editors to work for us is gonna take time, so we need to be pretty accurate here. We need to be fluent. We need to be grammatically correct.

Those are the main requirements for now. If you're interested and can hold to those things, the rest becomes fluid, I think. So far, the staff is Me, Joe, Blue and I believe Jarrid is still intending to take part. Aaron doesn't have the time to write for us at the moment but will be throwing news he comes across our way when he has time. I'd like to get a staff of at least 3 to 5 more people. Come on kids, what do you say?

I care!

I do, actually.

So is it going to be more of an aggregator or what? Does Wordpress have a sytem that would really work well for archiving reviews and such, or are they lumped together with blog posts? Just curious. I don't plan on contributing, but only because I don't keep up on all the latest RPG news. Well, that and because I don't feel like working for no pay.

And I think when you say things should be unbiased, what you really mean is don't be controversial. Any "reporting" is going to have bias no matter what. Everyone has game franchises they love and hate. I assume you just don't want anyone to sound like a troll, which is reasonable.

They'll be in with the blog posts, but with a click of the button, all the reviews will be placed together on a separate page. It's a blog. Tags do wonderful things when manipulated correctly.

As for the pay part, yeah that's not happening. Free Games as we get them? Merch? Etc. Sure, as we can and rebuild what we're doing. But not money, no, unless we get some kind of sudden funding.

Of course that's what I mean, as I'm sure most here understood.

I wasn't complaining about the no pay thing, as I know a lot of people contributed to the site in the past just for fun. Writing is generally not something I do for fun (besides posting on forums and such, of course).

Something I do do for fun is logo and graphic design... but I think you've got that whole area covered.

That all sounds good though. Hope the place gets some much-needed traffic.

I can probably help out with some overseas news as there is a lot of different stuff being reported during the evening and night in North America while it's still the morning or early afternoon in Asia.

I'd probably be in good for a few editorials or just general topic articles as long as I'm not the only one doing that sort of thing.

I want to help... I just don't think I have enough time to write that much in a week. I already work 9-10 hours four days a week and 13 hours one day a week. Waaah!

Since I don't know if I'll have access to any kind of gaming system next year (sharing a flat with 5 other people and I *think* one of them has a Wii but unsure), I would love to help out but can't really on the gaming front. I can't afford to buy Mac games

But you know you can count on a Sims 3 review from me ;) It will be a good week or so after the game comes out because I get home from Europe 4 days after the US release, but it will be on my doorstep when I get back. And I could write on other non-gaming topics if you wanted. Or about the frustrations of gaming on a Mac where there are less titles, lower availability (um, hello Steam?), and more expensive. :P

Now, as much as I'd love to help out AllRPG, I've pretty much lost all my desires to play video games anymore, and I now only own a NDS and my PC. I wouldn't even own the NDS if I could have traded it in at GameStop the last time I sold stuff, but it's missing the serial# sticker, and as such, they no longer take systems without these stickers.

However, I do hope that you guys find some good people and start to flourish again. Best of luck AllRPG.

PS. It's been a while since I've posted, I bet some of you guys thought I died!

Okay kids, just a quick update...no I haven't forgotten about this stuff. This month has been just slightly short of HELL. My birthday party is Saturday and then after that, I have no more pressing obligations that should keep me from getting the site up. I figure first week of June we'll be at least mostly operational. So yeah, if you want to help? Now's a good time to tell me.

And no, I'm not paying people. I can barely afford this myself.

One my my favorite things on this site was always the game reviews. You guys had almost every rpg out there with multiple reviews from all kinds of different perspectives. I really want to see that back on the site. I am also willing to help out with writing news, speculation and game reviews. Yes I am willing to work for free lol. For the love of it as they say.

I, too, would love to work for the site. The problem is I don't know shit about RPGs nowadays.
