I'm not familiar with the Icewind dale series or anything like that but I've herad they were good. I am interested in Dragon Age though as it's being made by Bioware. I read that there will be some special editions for each console and PC (I believe) that could be worth checking out. The 360 version will support some sort of extra item for Mass Effect 2 if you decide to purchase them both for 360.

Sushi, the special editions for PC and 360 have a special item for Mass Effect 2. Some Gamestop employee mentioned the ME2 item on the PS3 edition's product page, but it's not there any more so it looks like no ME for PS3 yet.

I'm not too sure what to make of the game yet though. Looks good, but the trailers haven't really made it seem like the mature fantasy world it's being marketed as. Sure, it's violent and has sex scenes in it, but I don't really equate that with maturity, just a high age rating. It looks very action packed, and as I wasn't a fan of ME's combat system, I hope they go for something more polished this time. Also, more morally ambiguous choices would be nice. I'll be buying it regardless, as Bioware always seem to make good games, but they frustrate the hell out of me. They really could make something ground breaking, rather than just progressive, but for me they always seem to stop short. I suppose my hopes rest on Heavy Rain having the impact Fahrenheit never did.

I'd probably have preferred a new Baldur's Gate game, as with the already somewhat alienating D&D setting, they may not have focused so much on the action/sex that the trailers imply the game is all about. But nooooo.... they want to turn a profit. Best of luck to them, and they'll always have my support while they're commited to creating deep RPG experiences like they have so far.

It seems more akin to NWN 1&2 in the actual game play and cut scenes. I'll still buy it of course, spiritual successor or not.

I would love an actual BG3 (isometric view and all) but I don't see where the story could go after ToB.

I haven't been keeping up with the game beyond knowing that it exists and planning on getting it. I do try not to miss major WRPG releases like this. Anyhow, I decided to watch some of the trailers and jot down the random thoughts that they inspired.

They sure do love to toss around the red stuff, eh? It seems in this fantasy world everyone comes with about 10 liters extra. What with the undead motif I'm noticing it seems like a juicier version of WoW. The whole thing comes across as so EXTREME that I can almost hear the 90s kid in my head. Still, it seems to have promise. Should be pretty good looking at least and I'm sure it will be, at the very least, and enjoyable fantasy romp.
