I full-on quit gaming a couple years ago. Back then it was the right thing to do. My aspirations were dwindling and I didn't mind too much, I had video games. Then I realized my the harmful possibilities of my mindset and changed.

Now, though, I'm IN school. I HAVE the girlfriend. I HAVE the goals and the job.

Sometimes I want to get back into gaming, but I'm just not quite sure yet. I wouldn't want to spoil such sweet memories. I have amazing memories of playing countless RPG's during my teenage years.

Meh, I'm sure I'll get back into it eventually. I just wanted to rant about my life.

You didn't say much about gaming and "getting it back."

I don't game nearly as much as I used. But I won't let it go completely. The days of playing games for hours and amassing big complete lists is over for me. I just have too many other things going on in my life, but I make the time here and there to enjoy a game. For me it's a little sad, but life goes on.

It is sad, WOTON, it really is. And it makes me frown. I want my 6 hours gaming sessions back. I want my leveling, my pwning, my online and offline escapades. Wtf happened to my life

I would like to get into gaming again too. I don't really play much but my boyfriend is always keeping me up to date with the latest news. He even bought me a 360 which is the only thing I play. I'm unemployed so it should be easy, but looking for work is very time consuming and on top of that, I'm trying to set up a little art business. No time for games. :(

I never had to give up video games in order to get back on track, I can only ever play for an hour or two at a time without getting a headache or feeling like an ugly lump. I did have to give up forums and IMs though, I stayed up too many nights chatting away. I stayed away for a good couple of years or so. Now I don't have to worry about staying up all night doing such things. It's not as compelling as it used to be, plus I don't have anyone to talk to all night anyway :p

I dun see why having a steady relationship and career will ruin your time and love for gaming. I have kids too, that didn't stop me from gaming. Well it is true that the TV is mostly occupied for my family these days but you can always go for portable consoles like I do now.

I don't game nearly as much as I used to, and that's partly because I just got 'out' of it in general. I still play some games here and there, but I don't put much time into the games I play (except SFIV). Gaming just doesn't interest me as much as it used to, unless a game really captivates me (and that's rare).

I've had Fallout 3 for two weeks now and haven't even started it.

It's hard to find games that are really good these days... and I don't think it's simply because I have other interest now, I really do blame the industry. Every once in a while, when I find a game actually worth playing, I become just as addicted as I use to, but those games are really much farther and fewer in between than they once where.

Anyway, if you're ready to try your hand at JRPGs again, I'd check out Valkyria Chronicles. Easily the best JRPG I've played since the PS1 era.

I need to find a girl that enjoys chatting about Final Fantasy, and than ask her to marry me.

I'm still gaming, but I'm just playing pretty short games that don't take a big commitment. Haven't played an RPG since January, or played a game which takes longer than 15hrs to complete. Can't even figure out why, I just seem to lack the motivation for a long quest. The interest is still there, but I've definitely cooled off in the last few months. Trying to get myself up for starting Suikoden 3, as I really need to start tackling my JRPG backlog.

I got the collector's edition on the release date, checked it worked and haven't touched it since. The Pip-Boy bobblehead looks good though.

I still play RPGs, I just take forever to beat them. I have been playing FFIV on the DS since March or April and just finished it on Sunday. So, it took a good four to five months for me to complete...

I still game, just not as much as I used too. I don't have a job that eats up a ton of my time, I don't have kids, and I don't have a significant other. The problem is that I have too many damn hobbies and I much prefer to play with other people. Also, what I play are usually older games.

The point is, I still find to play games and I find it very rewarding as variety is the spice of life. To be honest, I never had six hour marathons of gaming beyond LAN parties, but we also played a lot of different games.

I think I've moved a bit away from lengthy games like RPGs and to lighter affairs, unless they're portable. It's mostly because I'm a lot busier in college now, though. In the summer I can find time to finish whatever long ass RPG I've started.

Thanks for the recommendations. I totally agree about the failing industry, too. Sad. =/

I play whenever I can. Now that I have a girlfriend who is in state I spend more time with her than anything else. Though there are times we'll actually play some games together or when I just go ahead and play some PS3 while I'm at her place.

I mostly play my Handhelds though at work during downtime.
