I was gonna send this to you, Blue, but decided to put it here so everyone else could critique/edit/comment to the point that we would have something that everyone here would want. Here's what I've come up with. I used the Way Back Machine to see how the place looked in its heyday, so I'm going by that a little bit.

How does this look to you folks? As far as the Series and Developer Discussion, what do you think wouldn't get enough traffic? In Misc, I put the Leagues back in because I saw them as an area to start some grassroots member-defined groups. I liked them back when we had them, but I dunno how the rest of you felt about it. The PG just has to return, naturally, I don't think anyone didn't like that place, right? Bringing back the Anime section would facilitate some added discussion, I think. I remember it being moderately busy back in the day.

With enough of an expansion, I'm guessing we might need some mods again, too. You can figure that out, Blue. :P

lol, looks a lot like how our forums were laid out 4 years ago, like back when you were modding, Ges. Its not a bad idea, I do like the idea of restarting the creative corner and the PG.

Thanks, Serge. 4 years is about right. I was looking at some of the '06 forum snapshots mostly.

I could care less nowadays, DK, although it does preclude me from fixing my spelling error in the thread title. (Can someone fix that for me? I look like an idiot.)

However, I remember (being the young, impressionable poster that I was back then) that being a mod was one thing that kept me posting so much.

If we have a big influx of empty mod spots, that might get the posting activity ratcheted up.

I know a lot of these activity boosters I'm talking about are gimmicky and superficial for the most part (at best), but if they work, maybe activity will take care of itself. The more posting we get the more we'll have later to build from or something.

Better than doing nothing, I figure.


On a completely unrelated note, do we still have a chat room and are there people in it?

I usually check this forum about three times a day. The first yield, maybe, ten new posts. Maybe two or three more total after that first check. Today there have been sixteen posts and then ten points the second time I checked. The only new thread is this one...

Yes, I was the same way. The fact that you had to have a certain post count to have a custom avatar, the user bars, etc, were all incentives for me to post more.

I'm not saying that's exactly what we should do here, but we should have some incentive for one to post more. I say bring the user bars back.

And Ges is actually right about the spelling correction issue. That was about half of what I did--you know, besides, of course, editing Phakiel's posts exhibiting racial remarks towards Jews. Haha.
