Mine was while playing FFVI. That first scene with Terra playing the back round pulled me in like nothing before. The first couple hours of FFVIII were also extremely enjoyable. Although, that could just be because FFVIII was my first RPG, and any RPG newcomer would probably go aghast over such fucking brilliance. And the whole way through CT & CC was a total mindfuck.

I think if I ever put in the time to get the Zodiac Spear or Tornesol in FFXII I will be extremely happy. FFXII sidequests and rare-item finds take a LONG fucking time. I have never spent so much time trying to get good weapons.

Leaving Midgar in FFVII. Nothing beats that, for me. Discovering there was a whole world to explore was really a treat for me. And I hadn't had much experience with RPGs before that, so the whole world map thing was still kind of new to me.

I got the Zodiac Spear :D
Couldn't beat Yiazmat though :(
Totally raped my decaying corpse when he was done :(

FFXII was addicting to play, but I couldn't tell you what the story was about.

Earthbound was my first RPG. I was hooked after that. I want Mother 3 damnit!!!!

My most memorable experience was when Aeris dies in FFVII(Sorry, no spoiler warnings on 10+ year old games.) I was convinced that there must have been some way to bring her back.

Chrono Cross kinda melted my brain a little. It was still cool though.

Ya I'm an English major, who likes to study pre 18th century dialogue, and I don't really know what the story is about. Probably because it took me a long time to get through the game, like 2 years.

I'm almost finished all the hunts, and Yiazmat is one of the few left. However I'm around level 60 and a LONG way from being able to beat that guy. I don't know if I wanna battle a boss for 4 hours regardless. I forget what you even get off him anyways...

Took me a year. And I played several other things inbetween. So I just lost track of the story. I remember thinking that Balthier was the best character in that game. As for Yiazmat, I don't think you get anything other than his image on...oh, what was it called? The 2D sprite thing that keeps tabs on your accomplishments. That thing. I was Level 90 and couldn't take him. He uses "growing threat" which doubles his level. It takes a loooooooonnng time to put a dent in him.

That's a problem I have with FFXII. You don't get nearly enough for defeating difficult bosses, but you get the best weapons/armour by exploiting glitches in the game, defeating multiple simple enemies, and doing counter-intuitive stuff that you NEED a guide for.

I remember when I first finished FFIV and Chrono Trigger, they were epic times. FFIV had this monumental feeling to it, especially when you were young. Seeing how all the characters moved on (or didn't) after that final battle with Zeromus was so well dene. It made me wonder why it took so long for a follow up to happen. The story really does leave itself open to further installments.
