I plan this as a mash-up of all the fighting game stuff we all used to do so much of here. Basically a group to coordinate online play from Brawl, Calibur, SFIV, BlazBlue, Tekken, KOF, etc. Any fighting game that has an online component, really.
I was thinking of making this a place to set up some more tourneys or to keep info or something. We can run some sort of competitive "season" or a running list of our matches or whatever. Just a thought. I know we have enough fighting game players here. Zeal, BD, Lodis, Lunar, etc.
As a little registration - how bout we post our related Gamertags/PSN ID's/Friend Codes as well as the games we play online and our mains for those games? If there's enough of any certain game out of the group, we'll set up some stuff.

Of course I gotta post here. Live ID is Nickoten, and I can hop on GGPO if you want, too. I'll play just about anything, but for my 360 at the moment I've only got HDR, Blazblue, SF IV, and Marvel.

GES: yeah just hit me up. message me if I am playing something else. I am currently trying to beat Assassins creed so I can pick up AC2. however I get bored with it fast doing the same shit over and over again, so I will gladly put it aside for a few rounds in SC4.

Might as well try to instill a little activity back into the old fighting games thread and hopefully play a few of you guys in something.
Lunar hit me up today in SFIV and it was a blast. It had been entirely too long since I had played anything competitive online outside of Call of Duty.
As an aside, how'd you like my spam-jumping Vega, Lunar? I forgot some of the moves so it's all I could think up under the pressure. Your Cammy hasn't lost a beat. For some reason I was hitting the Ultra crazy fast when we started but I couldn't get it to work in the last few matches. I blame the hot wings I was eating.

Not just me, my sister caught the Demon's Souls bug as well. And Prototype was supposed to be HER game, she hasn't touched it since opening it.
Strangely, cannot get online with it at the moment. Will attempt to do so tomorrow.
Anyone up for a get-ready-for-SSF4 forum tourney? We'd probably need at least 5 people.
I figure this isn't going to happen unless I spam all of you with PSN messages.

I play MvsC2 its cheap like 800 points. I'll probably get SSFIV when it comes out.
I have an Xbox, but not SFIV for it. Just PSN for me for fighters.

I can't stand the 360 controller for fighters myself. I guess just a personal preference.

I completely agree. With games like MvC2 or SF you need an arcade stick on the 360, but I have yet to get one so I randomly do ridiculous things in the middle of battle. The PS controller is pretty good for fighters.

I really want to play you folks in SSF4. I've been learning Guy in SSF4 for weeks and I've no one to fight him against except ad infinitum Guiles.
Seriously, last night I fought 6 Guiles in one ten match stretch. All but one of them turtling pieces of shit.

Well...I got it.
They got rid of entire characters. Which isn't good considering I mained Amy / Talim. Both are gone with nothing to replace as far as play style. Zasalamel, Setsuka are gone, too. At least there's 4 Sophitia clones now. Blah.

I have read that the story mode is all about patroclos which is unfortunate
Story mode is 20 fights long and is a sack of shit.

I am not much of an online gamer so single player campaign is what mostly drives me, this is deplorable.
As bad as the single player campaign is, the game itself is pretty boss. They really made online a big focus, and it shows. Online SCV is stupendous.
Single Player isn't bad by any means, there's lots of different modes and a Quick Battle which is just about 250 premade Create a Character characters you can fight for titles. The story part is good enough for Patroklos / Pyrrha, who are the starring roles, but as far as the characters Namco has replaced with new people...not so much.
I like the new versions of characters, like Natsu for Taki, Xiba for Kilik, and the new fighting styles of Viola and ZWEI, but they give us literally no story on these newer characters. Hopefully some DLC will add to the story mode, I guess.
The only thing worse than 4 Sophitia clones is....3 Edgemasters. I mean...seriously?
Just for reference, here's how they've flummoxed the roster:
Alpha Patroklos = Setsuka without an umbrella
Aeon = Lizardman with Kratos moveset from the PSP Soul Cali.
No Talim / Hwang (bad since no new character has their style)
Kilik and Sophitia are Edgemasters of male and female characters, respectively.
I guess I can say the game is still fun, as long as your character hasn't been pushed out the door. I'd say the actual fighting and the online component make the underlying mechanics the best yet, just some off design decisions kinda put me off a small bit. Still a good game, though.
Oh, I must also say Voldo's 2P costume is the coolest thing I have ever seen.
