Emery was tearing it up for a while. What happened to him? He had like a 0.02 GAA for a while haha.
He injured his abs. Had surgery.
Philly's problem ain't the goalies, though. They've been awesome. We just can't score anymore unless we're playing the Islanders.

Some were projecting them to be Stanely Cup contenders. Hard to say if they can pull it back together around or after the All-star break, but anything is possible. The Pens did it last year.
Seems that most of the Olympic teams have been announced by now. I just saw the US team and they are pretty young and inexperienced. They will be a tough team though, as that's Brian Burke's style (Although his style seems to be a losing one for the most part).
Ges, you must have been interested in the Winter Classic this year.
I feel like adding something fun for the new year here....

I missed it, sadly. Was in the car all day. Seemed like a heartbreaker from the recaps. I might get it on iTunes or something when they put it up.
So, what'd everyone think of Jersey's out-of-the-blue Kovy snatching?
Alright folks. NHL Playoff pool time. Don't be douches. Who's in?

Not in but will observe. Go Canucks. Woo.
You guys freaking suck. I know you're out there.
Flyers the first to advance. Snazz.

Oh my did Brodeur have a mediorce year. Pull from team Canada, eliminated from the first round of the playoffs. Good on Philly beating Brodeur, Kovy, Parise, Zajac, etc... without Gagne Carter and a #1 goalie (though he played outta-his-head).
I could have sworn after the Boyle own-goal the Sharks were gonna fold again. Congrats to them for fighting back, I guess.
Goooo Habs! I do not want the Flyers and Boucher, no matter how well he's played, anywhere near Ovechkin.

Fuckin Avs...dammit...
I think the problem with the Avs (and the Kings) this postseason was that they're young and haven't played in the playoffs yet. They looked great, but maybe didn't know how to finish off a series. Still, that experience will help next year for both teams. They're both going to be formidable for years to come.
I'm glad Philly's in the East. We only have to worry about the Pens and Caps. The West is a damn minefield of good, young teams.
:P
Let's all laugh at the Caps! Ha!
So apparently these Habs aren't a fluke and Halak is channeling Cam Ward.
Also, Flyers could win the series after being down 0-3 to the Bruins. Happened only twice before...ever. Other two won the Cup. Sweetness.
Of course, there's still Game 7 to play. Should be an awesome game regardless of the final outcome.
Whoever comes out of the East is going to get raped by SJ/CHI.

Don't count out Montreal. They've got mad heart.
Freaking awesome. Go Philly.
So, what does everyone think of the SCF Game 1? Does shoddy defense and goaltending (and the resulting glut of goals) make for a good (or rather enjoyable) viewing experience?
I personally thought it was exciting, but seeing so much sloppy hockey, on both sides, just kinda ruined it somewhat for me. You'd think both finalists would be much more ready to go, but I guess nerves hit both teams hard.
I'm a fan of Philly, so I guess I have a vested interest in watching this, but what about you hockey fans in general? Anyone else watching the finals? It seems like a good enough matchup (at least in terms of audience drawing markets), so perhaps this'll be a good way for the NHL to draw in some more fans to go along with the ones they drew in with the Olympics festivities.
So, any hockey fans still out there? If you are, are you laughing at the Devils' misfortune like I am?

Brodeur should never be traded, but I don't like seeing him have to play behind this team.
Canucks are on a pretty good tear so I've been pleased. I decided to talk a lot of smack before they played Montreal, but that backfired. I was expecting another 8-0 crushing.
Yeah, same here. Philly just played the Habs yesterday and they stonewalled them right proper.
So Philly kinda blew up the team this offseason

I have no idea what that whole deal was in Philly but if they knew that Richards and co were problems in the locker room I have no clue as to why the offered long term deals to those players instead of just trying to shop them around earlier. I'm not sure what to make of the new team but with bums like Pronger and Bryzgalov, I've just got more reason to dislike the team. Sorry Ges :(
There have been a few big transactions but overall a pretty quiet offseason for most teams. I don't see Brad Richards making much of a splash with the Rangers, but they are always a competitive team on the ice. I'm not sure what to make of the next season exactly but having Winnipeg next season is a nice touch. Unfortunately they are in a terrible division for traveling arrangements.
Pronger I can undrstand, but why do you hate Bryz?

My team hasn't changed much... except no more Christian Erhoff. Which is a huge deal, ugh. Shame.
I'm so happy to see Philly blow up and change. I hope they're back in the dregs forever. Shit team with shit fans, except Ges, he's okay.
Local Canadiens is run by retards, apparently. So nothing interesting there. We got another big dude I guess, which is needed, but fuck, we still have Gomez. What a piece of shit.
So Cyrus, are you intent on blowing up the team there in Vancouver as many of the fans seem I've spoken with seem to be?
Even beyond your series, though, it's been a heck of playoffs thus far. Craziness and upsets everywhere.

Blowing up the team is a stupid idea. Trading Luongo is the only thing I'd like to see them do, just because Schneider is better anyway, and all that free cap space would be nice for them to pick up a good winger to play with Kesler. Who I hope gets healthy in his offtime, because healthy Kesler is wonderful.
I don't really get casual hockey fans who think the Canucks should change much. It's as if they didn't watch the games at all. I saw every game in that series and they only lost because of Quick, who was a jerkface who played too well against them.
I really, really don't get why so many people want to get rid of Vigneault, either. He's a great coach and they didn't lose because of him. Like... durr? Why would you get rid of people who are not the reason for your team losing just because the team lost? The problem with Vancouver becoming a great regular-season team is that now the Canadian media is treating them as retardedly as they do Montreal and Toronto.
So yeah I'm not too down with all of this drama.
I'm happy for once to not have a boiling hatred for a team in the final. Id love to see the Devils or the Kings win. Now I can just enjoy hockey.
An amusing note, after this final the last 4 cup winners will have gone through Philly or the last three through Vancouver.
