Shining Tears

Having had time during this holiday period I indeed worked on my almost a decade worth of backlog!

For those keeping track, I am no longer stuck in 2002 but, in fact, have moved on to 2003! The plan was to finally start playing SMT Nocturne but since I couldn?t find my copy I whipped out Shining Tears. Yes, it?s cheating this is a 2004 game, I don?t care!

I remember the work I did when we first put up the ALLRPG review for this game, but I never actually played it. For those interested, I still have the review (think Idun wrote it).

I?m not too sure what to think of it, I?ve played such a copious amount of crappy games that I find myself enjoying this one even though I probably shouldn?t. It?s clich? ridden both storywise and characterwise, horrible control scheme, useless battle options, technical problems (loading screens, slowdown) but the item creation and management in combination with some good old hack n slash stills interest me. Yes, the story is clich? but I still enjoy my tale of dragon rings and kingdoms in peril.

Anyone ever played this? Thoughts? Share!

I played a few hours of the game, but stopped. I need to go back to it. Not an impressive game. But I don't think it's horrible. I think once you get a hang of it..you can run with it. I really didn't understand what I was doing half of the time.
