So. . .
Has anyone picked this up yet? I have been playing it nonstop all this past week, and I must proudly say this is the first Dragon Quest I have ever enjoyed and not wanted to put down (DQ8 wasn't too bad).
The story, well, it is not that interesting, but I am having fun with a lot of the other aspects. Very simple. I like it.
Thoughts?

Haven't had a chance to play it yet, but thought it looked decent. There are a ton of RPGs that I need to catch up on, unfortunately.

I was thinking about picking this one up recently, but ultimately decided against it. Care to convince me that it's worth grabbing? :)

It is Dragon Quest.
It is a well polished, silly, charming grindfest with awesome music that doesn't take itself completely seriously.
I will get it. Eventually.

That's kind of the impression I had of it, which doesn't exactly sell me on it immediately. It could be a lot of fun... or it could bore the crap out of me. Is the battle system pretty traditional?

I direct you once more to my previous statement: It's Dragon Quest.
Dragon Quest is about as traditional as it gets in jRPGs. Solid and polished, though.

Well, I've never played one nor have I ever paid much attention to the series :p
Good to know. Thanks for the clarification.

I have enjoyed it a lot. Like Luisfe had said previously, there is not much to it, but there is enough there to keep me playing it over and over again. A lot of beefing up, and I enjoy that. I love the portability as well. =P
