I hate to say it but it looks like the most boring sandbox game ever. I don't get the hype.
^I agree. What is the allure of Minecraft, exactly?
The allure is that you can play it in a browser while at work or school, and it's one of those games that you can just shut off and continue any time.

While feeling like you went back in time to 1995 and are playing a doom clone.
Well... I'd say it's more like a Doom meets the Sims.

I have no idea what that game is about but that video was awesome.
Yeah. After watching that video, I was pretty sure that I could never top that experience in the game. Pretty much true. That video was absolutely a 'LMAO' experience.
Basically you go around mining raw resources which you can in turn use to build other things. Like, you can build a tower, or fort, or house or whatever.... One guy built a scale model of the earth, except it was hollow inside, and you could go into the hollow space. You can also mine really abstract things like lava falls or waterfalls which are a permanent source of lava. If you get creative you can make shit like lava skylights or a moat. Some people make shit like rollercoasters as well. There are really tons of things you can do in this game.
They're working on putting in multiplayer combat, too. But as of yet you can only die or fight monsters in single player.
On one hand, multiplayer is pretty crap, since your invincible and can't killer other players. But on the other hand, it's pretty entertaining as you're invincible and can't killer other players. Make sense?
Well I got it, and I really like it.
It just allows you to just run wild with your creative side. I have a snazzy fort I built into a cliff. Those are always cool.

Doom clones are fast. and don't involve creativity/building. I guess.
ON THE OTHER HAND I am not one to talk since I missed Doom and so on and so forth in the 90's and only pretty muhc started playing them a couple of years ago. Hell I did not get Duke Nukem 3d until this goddamn year.
And it is a blast.
You missed out on Doom in the 90s!? :O
That's terrible....

Yeah, its surprising that he developed into a full human being, missing Doom is like missing out on milk while developing.
And not playing Duke 3D on its heyday its just preposterous. Bad Mexican Boy Louie, Bad mexican boy!
I didn't play Doom in the 90's, either. No wonder I'm retarded.

Yeah, it was a requisite to pass into high school. I had to draft a analytical debriefing of how a space marine can survive the gates of hell. That and copyng Gattaca and Twister for some of my Creative Writing classes. I really dont know how the fuck they didnt pick up on that, its like my teachers didnt go to the movies or had cable. True, the one about Twister actually ended up in Antarctica but Gattaca was like a flat out plagiarism.
I think everyone needs to have Duke Nukem as a father figure. With all of these pansy ass 'real' parents around, people are forgetting what it means to be a man! It means TNA, and walking around with a big fucking gun.

Fuck yeah, hail to the kind baby.
people are forgetting what it means to be a man!
YES! Those are truthful words you have spoken. Now, excuse me while I go slip on a pair of Birkenstocks whilst sipping on some Chamomile tea.
Fuck yeah, hail to the kind baby.
Way to go and Catholicize everything.

A friend of mine posted on facebook about this game for two weeks straight. Every single update was about Minecraft.
Yeah. It's pretty addictive.

You know Catholics are the people who curse the most and take the name of god in vain.
