so I installed this new program on my Mac, called Parallel Desktop. which in turn allows you to install windows on your Mac. the cool thing is, that its the program that it gets installed to, so I have a PC pop up window on my laptop right now, allowing me to play PC games on my MacBook. pretty sweet eh? I think so!

I do the same but with a program called Crossover. I honestly don't use it that much, as I find many of the hair pulling situations I got into with a PC, also crossover when I emulate a PC on a Mac. But on a more interesting note, it does run windows programs more smoothly than my PC did. o_O

I just use Boot Camp for all my Windows needs. My dad uses Parallels I think though and he loves it.

There's always VMware and WINE too. I've never used any of them, but it's good to know there are a lot of options at least.

Yeah, I've heard bad things about the newer versions of WINE (at least bad things in comparison to other emulators).

I was thinking about boot camp at first, but after finding out you have to restart the computer and run it from the beginning of start up, I had second thoughts. Parallel is awesome because I just start up the computer and open up a program and it boots up windows. plus I can also fit it to screen. and hit F6 to switch back and forth at will. can also still run programs on the Leopard side too while using it. I find it very convenient for all situations. :)

trying to run some Might and Magic games, but not working out for me so far. I need to download a new driver and cant find any place to download it from. :(
my only problem thus far.

From what I recall, using Parallels takes up more resources to run than just using Boot Camp. That was really my only issue with it. If you've got the power to have both up and doing stuff simultaneously, then... your computer is obviously better than mine :p

as far as I know I just have a regular MacBook Pro. :/
I have had no problems with it at all. I just need to download DirectDraw from somewhere so I can re-live Might & Magic 6. :/

honestly the only reason I got it was to play some old school PC games. most of which don't take up much space/memory at all.

My Macbook Pro is over three years old now, so... hah, it's kind of on its last legs I think.

I setup Boot Camp specifically to play some Windows-only MMO's. 2Moons was such a great timesuck :D

haha I thought about it, but yeah not really my thing. I never really got into PC games. except a few of the classics.

Yeah. The reason I originally got Crossover was to play Asheron's Call. I never got around to actually playing it though. As much as I loved the game, I think it would be hard to get into again, this late in the game.
