Do you have any old games that you can't get off your mind. And you just can resist playing through them again. Share those amazing games here.

Castlevania: Symphony of The Night
Metal Gear Solid
MYST
Discworld
Escape from Monkey Island
Broken Sword

I recall really having a fondness for adventure games. Especially point and click type ones.

For those two generations ago I dont know if they should be considered that old but anyway

Xenogears
FF8
Resident Evil 2
(all three I just started again)
Sonic & Knuckles (man this was the shit for me when it came out)
King of Fighters 94 and 98
Persona 2
Zelda OoT
Super Mario 2, RPG and 64
Megaman X the snes and psx (MEGAMAN....X.......4)

I ahve always wanted to finish Lufia 2 on the snes but was never able to, last game save I had was during this part in a sewer were huge rats killed you a lot.

I have some 8-bit games I cherish to no end, even if I'm terrible at them...
Milon's Secret Castle
Elevator Action
Solomon's Key
Mighty Bomb Jack
Super Mario Bros. 3
Bubble Bobble

Other older games I love:
Curse of Monkey Island (<3 I listened to the soundtrack on my commute home from work this morning)
Mario 64 and Super Mario World
Kirby's Crystal Shards
Final Fantasy IV
Goldeneye
Any Zelda game that can be considered "Old," minus Zelda II... -.- That game sucked out my soul...

And of course...let me not forget the mindfuck that was Legacy of the Wizard. I never got far in that game, it was FAR too complicated for me to play when I was a kid...but for some reason I was always obsessed with trying to figure it out. I'm honestly waiting for Wii to put it on the Shop Channel so I can shell out $5 I'll be angry I spent...Because the game will continue to FUCK WITH ME.

I have been replaying Terranigma. Something about these old Enix games - Illusion of Gaia, Robotrek - is so charming. They explore humanity in a way that wasn't exactly common back then. Illusion of Gaia has many moments where the camera fades out perfectly or the music fits just right or pauses... I don't know how to explain it. It was great directing when such a thing was hardly possible in a video game.

You know I could never play either Soulblazer nor Illusion of Gaia, and I only got to like half of Terranigma, hell of a game too.

What's the criteria for 'old'?

I love Space Harrier and the only copy I own is in the arcade in Shenmue. So, yeah, I play Shenmue just to go to the arcade and play Space Harrier. Oh, and to get some capsule doohickeys right outside the arcade.

Screw it, I'm doing that now.

Soulblazer was meh, I found. Illusion of Gaia is really, really good. One of my top 10 on SNES for sure.

Ah, I forgot Secret of Mana. My brother sold my copy (douchebag) when I was about halfway through...I ended up downloading it on my Wii but have had little time to play it.

Ouch! That sucks. Luckily the game shouldn't be hard to track down again in the future and shouldn't be too expensive.

Ges, that is awesome that you still play Shenmue. Still one of my favorite games ever. It has it's down falls but I just like the feeling of the game, the environments, music and that it's a one of the games I got with my DC. Just a great experience. Hard to believe it's 10 years old now.

I don't know what games I can really include in an "Old games" thread because I play and own far too many.

Golden Axe 1 & 2
Zombies Ate my Neighbors
Rock n Roll Racing (Hell yeah boy)

Dude that game was tits. I remember when I first popped into my NES and all that colourful crap was all over my tv and you controlled this tiny little mouse and the whole thing was like...super gay but around that time you didnt actually know what gay entailed (the game is older than I am so that means I played it when I was like 3 or 4 years old) and you just went with it. You see you sort of knew there was something off in it but dammit was that thing fun.

Also, I dont know if it was here or somewhere else where they posted the theme song for the moon level on Duck Tales and man did that brought back memories.

It looks even worse then I remember.

I do have to admit that I played this quite a few times as a child. But then again, when your a child in the late 80s, early 90s, youll play just about anything.

You know, seeing NES colours made me remember that I played 8 eyes more than Castlevania.

lol, I'm actually not that mad, I just never realized that Space Harrier was on it. I actually found Shenmue to be pretty boring. I just want to play Space Harrier again...I should emulate it and figure out how to map a nice setup with my 360 controller, but I know I've had issues in the past. I'm just lazy.

Space harrier is also on Sonic's Ultimate Genesis collection as well in all it's arcade glory. So you can always get that if you have a 360 or a PS3. It's a good disc too. Well worth the cash and it should be really cheap now.

I always wanted to start that game but never could. I finally tracked it down like two years ago at a store but it could have been lost either at my granparent's house or at mother's.

I did start Valkyrie Profile if that counts for anything. I wanna play Grandia again, I couldnt get too far into that game.

Man how time flies, it was 11 years ago when I bought my psx.

EDIT: Wait, i tracked it down 4 years ago, I just remembered I was at my previous job when i found them not this one, and this one I started on may 1st 2007.

That game was fucking epic back in the day. I think I still have my original nes copy packed up.

I have that for the TurboGrafx-16. It was one of the first games I picked up for that system and seeing how I was a sucker for fantasy, I played it way too much given my lack of mad shmup skills. In fact, that system is always great for nostalgia. Ys Book 1 & 2, Neutopia, Dragon's Curse, Legendary Axe. Yeah, I like to bust 'em out every so often.

Wait, that's not what I wanted to say. I never play old games, They're old and they smell funny.
