(Well, since I woke up, the power is back...but anyway.)

I woke up at noon today, and the power was out (downed power lines), didn't come back on until 4:45. Wouldn't normally be a big deal for me, except that this time of year where I live, it's upwards of 90s lower 100s outside. Exact temperature today, 98 F (~36 C)... So the house was hot after 2 hours of no air conditioning.

Typically, I spend the time without power by playing my piano or reading a book...today I did both, until the heat got the best of me and I fell asleep. (It's always been easier for me to handle heat if I'm sleeping through it.)

So anyway...

What do you normally do when the power is out?

Listen to my ipod or watch porn on my laptop until the battery dies.

Last time I had a power outage, I read Manga.

But right now I don't have any new Manga to read, so I don't know what I'd do.

:(

Well, I read when the power is on, it's just natural that I'd read when it's out.

I always lose my fricken mind when the power goes out at night though.

I go insane when the power goes out too. There is really nothing to do.

Sometimes I dont have enough juice on my laptop/ipod and its just the most horrible experience ever.

I usually just light a candle and read. I have not had to go without power for a while now, and I guess I have been really lucky. Though, I remember when a really bad ice-storm came, and my family was out of power for a whole week right after Christmas. For presents that year my little brother got Chrono Cross, and I received Final Fantasy IX, and I remember it was driving us crazy because we could not play them.

I sleep. When there is light, I sleep more.

Ice storms are usually lose power as well, a couple years ago it went out for 3 days, and when I was little, it was out for over a week once. That was the year the tree fell on my bedroom juts minutes after I got brave enough to go to it alone. Crashed right through my damn window.

But yeah, the power was out for over a week, sucks living in the woods.

Yeah, living in woods when there is an ice-storm always equals shit going wrong.

I tend to sleep or walk outside in the storm. I like to challenge nature to kick my ass, and such.

well two things woulsd happen if I lodst power. 1st I would go to the shi pbecause our generatiors would be online because of it so I would hav e power. and 2nd if the ships generators went donw then I would be pissed because its my job for power distribution on the ship itself so I would have ALOT of work aheadf of me...

"An unexpected Accident on the S.S. Kalrstrong was the main reason the vessel started attacking every single country in the world. The culprit was a mechanical engineer who was apparently drinking while he was fixing the ship's power generators and caused a major short circuit on the main computer and triggered what was known as America's worst attack during peace time. An emergency meeting is being held today at the UN headquarters to control the situation and provide punishment to the engineer who single handedly could have caused WWIII"

It wouldn't be much of a problem for me, during the summer it actually wouldn't be much of a big deal. I'd probably just go swimming some where, go jogging, read. Probably call some friends over to chill on the patio, drink some beer, and grill. If I decided that it was too boring, I'd just go to my parents cabin, drink beer by the fire. There are plenty of things to do, we just depend on power so much that we forget.

If it's daytime I'll work on one of the cars but if it's night I jump on the laptop and get work done.

Go out with friends and have a larf!

But if I have to stay in I can just play on my DS, read a book, listen to my i Pod torment my family etc etc.

I pretty much lose my mind when I lose power. Only being able to be consoled by a hopefully fully powered DS and MP4 player. And if I was really desperate, I'd walk to a Grocery Store and borrow one of their sockets. Only in the one I worked in though.

If I have no other options I'd either sleep or break out a book I've yet to finish.

Well, my power wasn't out today, but my internet was out for about 6 hours. You never realize how often you sit down at the computer just to look up random stuff or to talk to someone, until you can't do so.

I would just do it I Am Legend style. I'm sure zombies would be pretty much the same. :P

Oh man, power went out here a couple of days ago. It tends to do that often though. Such is life in the developing world. OSAIDHPSAODIHSDPAOISDHPSDOI. The worst part is that it went out in the middle of the Eurocup semis, so I missed a bunch of stuff. I usally either 1) go to my grandparent's house or 2) go to the girlfriend's house or 3) Use the laptop battery until it dies or read I guess. The power goes out by "zip code" basically, so you might not have power in your street but there might be 2 streets away.

The last time ours went out, our entire side of the street was out, but across the road, it was all on. Different service companies. It was strange, and really just pissed us off more the longer we waited.

The power goes out here ALL the time. If it's nice outside I usually go out and read a book. If it's dark or not so nice I usually go over to a friend's place and we find things to do together. It's always more fun to be miserable together.
