View Full Version : Ideal qualities for the ideal partner.

So what are the qualities you look for in a partner?
What I look for:
Looks:
I tend to get more attracted to the in-between girls, not too thin not too big. I want someone shorter than me but nor too and if short then wear high heels... always. But I can get over hight. The eyes are probably one of the most important parts, not the colour, I don't really care what colour they are, the shape that the eyelids make around the eyes is what I love... is this weird? I'm always been a sucker for red plummy cheeks and a shiny set of lips. Make up? go for it, I do like the natural look but if there are parts you feel the need to hide, then go ahead, as long as the girl doesn't end up looking like a hooker or a transvestite make up is fine by me. Has to have a fringe, I don't think I have ever done out with a girl who didn't have a fringe, I like them because the frame the face of the person. The rest of the hair can be whatever, short, long I don't care, I do love black and blond hair though. I don't mind piercings unless they're not all over your face.
Personality:
Honestly, nice girls are fine. As long as the girl is not too rowdy and manly then I'm good. The girl must have a sense of humour and at least reasonable intelligence. A soft docile voice always gets me. Bitchy girls can work too some times.
With all this said I can't really like a perfect woman, for me to love someone that person has to have a few imperfections.
My current girlfriend is probably the best I've had, ever, I love her to bits. I'm sad that we might not be able to see each other again because of university. I don't know what to do without her. If we do break up before university then I guess the hunt is on yet again. But I am seriously gonna miss her.

Ideal qualities? Loyalty, by far. It's rare to find these days.

I've already outlined my physical ideal (long and lean), personality wise, I like someone smart, funny, someone loyal, who enjoys the same things I do, and who doesn't mind that I can zone out for days at a time with books or games.
One thing I don't really like is someone too clingy. Someone who wants you with them all the time, always wanting to touch and cuddle. Cuddling is fine, but I need my own personal space sometimes too. Especially when I sleep. One area my husband and I are totally incompatible in- he wants to sleep all snuggled up on top of me, I need room to move around, room to breathe!

On retrospection, I am a very tocuhy feely kind of person. I enjoy feeling people, not in a sexual way, but trying to bond with them. When I shake hands, I'm reluctant to let go, the same goes for hugs, etc.

The only time it really bugs me is when I'm trying to sleep or when I'm trying to get something done. I don't always have time to stop and snuggle, lol.

I know what you mean. It's something special to me when a person cuddles as much as I do. :p
My ideal partner is someone who can't live without me, who hangs on my every word, who is successful in his life and who cannot imagine a life without me for the rest of our lifetime!
I'm lucky enough :)

Looks are fairly insignificant, but I feel you have to be attracted to your partner, or else it's going to be a disaster... However I do have a "type." I tend to go for the tall-n-lanky white boys with dark hair and dark eyes...though as I've stated before in another thread, the eyes aren't really a deal breaker, as my first real boyfriend had these amazing blue eyes.
Personality... I like a guy that can make me laugh, but also knows that it's not all fun and games all the time. (I dated a guy that was always trying to be the funny guy, needless to say, in 11 days I knew he was just going to drive me more insane than he had already.) Good sense of humor, and slightly nerdy/dorky. I like guys that are a little dorky like me, because then I don't feel bad for being a little "offbeat." A little klutzy is also a plus, because I'm Super Klutz. (seriously, that's my secret identity.) Honesty, loyalty, and all of that other stuff people hope for... I don't like douchebags...I've dated a douchebag for a whole year...it wasn't fun. So I tend to steer clear of the douchebags, but usually the guys that aren't douchebags are too shy to talk to girls, and those piss me off, too!

There are so many little things that make for ideal relationships, it's impossible to actually know what you want before you get it.

I am going to find out plenty of things come this Monday. The lady I have been talking to for over four weeks now is coming to town, and it will be very interesting. I am excited. I have known her for over five or six years now, though. Use to be my best friend's ex. Says he is happy for the two of us, but I believe he is pretty pissed. Oh, well. It has been four years now. He can get over it.

Trim your pubes.

Haha, do not get me started on pubes.
However, it would not be as fun since Karsh is not here. :(
Yeah, I know it sounds a little weird. . . anyway.

would you rather shave?
Matron
06-29-2008, 08:11 PM
I keep things neat and tidy, but I don't feel the need to look like a little girl.
Besides, my hair grows funny, and it makes me really prone to ingrown hairs. :(
Those little beard trimmers are the best things ever for what needs done!

I'm the same, Dire... If I even try to shave, I'll get 5-10 ingrown hairs...Have any of you assholes that demands it to be shaven ever had an ingrown hair on your pubic mound? No? Then stfu.
I trim though, and I've never had any sort of complaint, even from the assholes that claim to demand it be shaven.
Indigo

lol I've actually had guys say they won't even date a girl unless they find out if she shaves/waxes...and usually those assholes are the ones that have wild-man jungles going on between their legs. :p
I'm just sayin', love. :)

If a girl said it would look nicer if I shaved/waxed I'd probably do it.

I get really crazy ingrown hairs on my inner thighs... it's annoying and they scar like mad. Seriously.. there has got to be a better way.
I'm done trying to come up with lists of ideal qualities. I have met two men in my life that fulfill all of my lists of "perfect qualities" both physically, professionally, and personally- Jewish, great careers (one just graduated from law school, the other works for an internet company that shall not be named *cough*Google *cough*), well educated, tall, dark, and chubby, and enjoy traveling and improv humor to name a few. But they both were just so *boring*. No emotional connection whatsoever.
I've found that the people I'm most attracted to tend to not be anyone I would imagine being attracted to at all. Hell.. my last love interest was(is) a pagan divorced father of two... THAT'S coming out of far left field for me.

This amazingly beautiful girl came into my Starbucks today. Her big blue eyes made me weak in the knees. I wanted to take her on the espresso machine.
So, yeah... eyes.

That reminds me of this dream I had once.... me, guy I knew, salad bar.....
Atlas
06-30-2008, 12:17 AM
You like salads then? I'm not into that kind of thing, really. I could make an exception...
;)
Matron
06-30-2008, 12:19 AM
Well there actually was no salad. In the dream, the place was closed and clean, and we just ended up on the salad bar. Quite the vivid dream, that one was.

Romance stops when a cro?ton gets stuck in your ass.
Also I like my women to shave down south. I shave every week or two because I am not an hypocrite and because it makes Phak Jr. bigger.
As for qualities, as I have mentioned my favourite looks in women at the other thread, personality wise it will have to be a smart girl with the ability to use sarcasm and dark humour constantly. Someone that will never make me bored and that will join in saying mean things about people and the world without saying "That just mean honey, dont say that".
Also I would like a girl who can pay for stuff. Apparently, even though I am cheap and stingy as hell normally, there is an inherent program in my head that makes me have to pay when I am out with women. Even if they are just friends, I just naturally cant stop myself from picking up a check. However, if i was dating a girl, i would appreciate if she would pick a check to pay once in a while, it wouldnt need to be a big one, just a kind gesture.
I am starting to date this chick but she seems to be sort of like a gold digger, the friend who set us up kinda told me flat out that she takes advantage of guys. Its ok because I am really attracted to her physically, she is sort of the long black haired light skin type, she doesnt have boobs but her ass and overall frame is sexy, so i wanna shag her but she definetely is not girl friend material, so far. But we'll see.

I know you played Snake Eater, dear. Imagine the mean vulture steak he could whip up.

You have the looks to probably pull that off, sexy guy. Get some balls and do it :p Eyes can be deadly.
But any woman who can maintain a kind of attentive eye contact really gets me.

When I try to pull "sexy guy" they can tell it's an act.
What I'd do in that situation? I'd probably observe her every move to get a bit of her personality down. If you want to act you should know your audience first. I would put my friendly assistant, and pop my smile a few times. Probably pop some friendly advice somewhere or make a bad pun, if she smiles and looks down or to the side that means she likes you. then when give her the bill if she buys something, write your number down on it. and give it to her.

Cyrus believes in the old "club her over the head" approach to courting. ;)
Hey, that's my approach, too... Cyrus, I think we're made for each other... :p

Nah.
I'm pretty bold with women, though. Not only does it get more results, it's a lot more exciting and fun.
