So, I was sort of wondering what is a good way to maintain some order to your list of games? Where do you keep track of them? Online or in a spreadsheet? Perhaps elsewhere? I'm looking for some suggestions as to what I can do myself with what I have. I have been using the IGN database for a long time but they have been in beta forever it seems like and I want to find somewhere else that is better.

Where do you keep yours?

Also, How do you keep the physical games managed? Do you put them in any kind of order based on alphabet? Console? Genre?

I'd like to get some suggestions and hear about how everyone else does it themselves. :)

I used to have my ps2 games lined up alphabetically in the tv table. Eventually it got to be too many so I bought this huge cd case which held like 100 or so cds and I took them out of the cases and put them in also alphabetically. First ps2 since it was the one that had the most games, then pc and psx.

Oh and I also used the collection thing on ign but it eventually was kinda of a pain to pick each new game i bought and I thought well this aint really usefull for anybody except wasting my time so I stopped.

And I have no room to keep my games organized where I'm living now, so I've just got towers of games, CDs, and DVDs on my dresser.

I have a Word doc ( so I know which of my friends have borrowed what). Otherwise, all my games are in a massive 10'x6' bookcase...though I'm running out of room. A good two levels of that is stuff I haven't finished yet.

PC? Steam. Easy as hell, obviously. You can even add games you didn't buy through Steam into your Steam library.

Consoles and handhelds? A couple of drawers. No real rhyme or reason.

I'm a bit behind on the times Moogle. Can you tell me what "games.txt" is exactly. I tried to punch it into a web browser but couldn't really figure it out. Is it just a listing type site?

Sorry, I just meant that I keep a list of all my games in a text document. Pretty much as simple as you can get.

Which reminds me, I'd love it if there was a site where I could list all my games that was halfway decent. I know IGN has something like that, but I'd love to see something similar to Shelfari which I love to use for books.

Ah, got it Moogle. I'm using a .txt file as well but I'd like something that is a little more flashy and displays them better. Even a sort of spreadsheet system would be nice.

I found someone talking about this on youtube and it seems like a great site. However you do have to pay a monthly fee, and I'm just not that interested to pay for something I can do my self on another site for free.

Yeah that one doesn't look too bad but it is pretty ridiculous to have a monthly fee for something like that.

If only Shelfari had partner sites for games and movies, I'd be all over that. Maybe in the future since they were bought out by Amazon.

Alphabetized in drawers. Each console gets its own drawer.

DS and PSP games go into a case of some sort.
