To keep or not to keep the name AllRPG?

Why not just integrate this new forum to Vanish/ Doom's site, and rename it as V/D forum?

Should this new forum board be given a new name instead? If yes, what should we call it? You name it, we discuss over it?

I am not sure. It will take a lot to get a staff that would want to bring AllRPG back up. With V/D, there is already that opportunity. There are going to be a lot of things discussed I am sure about the future of everything. My biggest worry is trying to get new people to these forums.

I don't agree with you on this. I really feel and think is time to move on. Hyde did mentioned about making this new forum more of a community site rather than a niche gaming site.

While it is nice for nostaglic purposes, I don't know about AllRPG being it's own entity for much longer.

Can it happen? Absolutely. It all depends on how much work we are willing to put in, especially considering how much has already been done. Transfering over to Vanish/Doom exhibits great potential, I have to admit.

I sincerely hope that AllRPG turns itself around. If a new site was up and running, with the expected changes we've heard about over the last few months, it'll have just as much or more success than VD.

The main site and the forums need a total revamp, and I know that's a lot of work for one man, but hopefully he can get some help and really get the ball rolling. Everything else would fall into place.

as stated before, with the new site I would retire the title of Sword Master Mark, due to the fact that the name started at the original site, and thus it will die with it. MarukuKen is just a ruff translation of Mark's Sword. so the meaning is still involved with swordsmanship but the meaning is just an expression that is the spirit in the Sword Masters Blade.

While Vanish/Doom will eventually get its own forums, they won't be these. AllRPG and VDoom and distinct communities and aren't really related other than both being RPG related.

Plus I rather like the idea of AllRPG being AllRPG. It's been around for quite a while, and it'd be a crime to get rid of it now.

Finding a dedicated staff is obviously going to be a main issue. When it was a thriving site a lot of people joined the forums. However, when it was thriving, we had a staff that was young, still in high school, and had a shit load of free time to do nothing but update the site on a daily constant basis. Also, it was out of love for RPGs, and at that time, a lot of big time RPGs had started to come out which brought in a bigger crowd. However, we have all grown up. We all are not kids any more (except for a few), and we all have jobs or are full-time students in college. Honestly, we need a young staff again that wants to really put forth the effort to work for a RPG website. How we will attract such a crowd? I am not quite sure. I do not have any immediate ideas right now. Yeah, there are a few of us here that would love to help in any shape or form, but hell, why did we not do it before? I blame myself for that as well. I really would like to help the site out, but I honestly do not care to play RPGs any more, and I really find no interest in them other than maybe playing one on the DS every now and then. I do not have that passion for games like I did when I was younger. I know a lot of us here still do enjoy RPG games or just games in general, and that is fantastic. Though, it takes a lot more than just playing games to actually run and manage a site daily. I believe it is a whole different ball field.

Merging? Yeah, I do not mind the idea. I do not want to see the name AllRPG go away as much as any other person here does, but like I have said before, it is going to take a long, long time before I can really see any kind of hope for the site to bounce back up again. I know that might sound negative, but I really am trying to keep a positive attitude towards our future as a site and community. I want to see some new faces. I want to have some new regulars. Another generation of people.

That is my own opinion on it anyway.

Perhaps what this place needs is a new name. Time for rebirth. I have the best intentions for ALLRPG as well, mind you. I just would love to see new people posting under a new guise (VD). New everything.

I don't think VD and ALLRPG will ever be related in any way, shape, or form. They've said numerous times, that VD wants nothing to do with ALLRPG.

Right now, we're mainly concerned with getting all the bugs worked out and making sure all of the members come here. What ALLRPG will become is up in the air at this point.

Okay I want to put these Vanish/Doom vs. AllRPG rumors to bed as soon as possible...in fact...look for a post about it in a little while.
