I have tons of shit to do but I still really want to grab Mortal Kombat (http://www.1up.com/do/blogEntry?bId=9073842). The level of gratuitous violence is wicked, and there's nothing a nostalgia wave can't cure.

I've heard nothing but good reviews so far, but what are your impressions?

I played the demo and the thing that bugged me is that it still feels like the same game I played as a kid. Some may like this and say thats why is so cool is the same MK you used to play, but I say that 20 or so years after that, they should have some new feeling to the game. Like you take SF and compare it to MvC3 and you see how far the engine has come, it has gotten through a lot and what you have although it still feels similar is a whole new ballgame.

In MVC3 I am chaining combos, trying to get specials to finish it off, and hell even in SF3 I was parrying and reversing like hell. But with MK i am still doing the same shit, uppercutting and slide kicks.

On the other hand the whole xray thing its pretty cool, I just dont know how to do it.

EDIT: Oh and the graphics alone are fantastic, really the backgrounds look amazing and the character models are boss.

The demo was entertaining, but I really can't imagine myself picking it up at anything more than rock-bottom price. But I guess I'm more of a Guilty Gear guy anyway, so this isn't surprising.

I HAD it pre-ordered but I canceled my preorder. I'll pick it up fairly soon probably. I have other things to save for so it had to take a backseat.

It looks interesting and I may rent it with a friend some lazy weekend, but beyond that I'm not too intrigued. I like the idea of it playing like the old ones, though, since they were pretty decent and everything MK from the last 10 years is like shit drooling out of an asshole volcano.

I wasn't planning on giving it the light of day, but it is getting good reviews, so who knows. Definitely getting the demo soon, and that's two steps farther than I planned on going.

I.dont think the demo gives the best idea of the game but it's the best first step. But yeH I would still not buy it full price

I was just playing MKII yesterday with a couple friends and I had the sudden realization I'd really overlooked the games years ago. Damn sheltered childhood.
