Late last year, Anthony Gonzalez announced his next album was almost complete and would be "very, very, very epic." With all due respect, consider the redundancy of that statement: Since 2003 breakthrough Dead Cities, Red Seas & Lost Ghosts, every new and increasingly colossal M83 studio record has led to widespread crowdsourcing of synonyms for "epic." What exactly was he promising other than simply another album?

Does this warrant its own thread? Frankly, I don't care if it does or not. I just can't contain my excitement for this release by one of my favorite musicians. It's getting nothing but positive reviews even by Pitchfork, which I often find myself loathing.

So yeah, listen to the track I just posted in the 'Currently Listening' thread. If you don't like this music then I officially lost all respect for you!

Just listened to to it today, definitely pretty good. I'll have to listen again to really absorb it all though.

OTOH I also just listened to the leak of Jusice's new album, which I'm much more thoroughly impressed with. It actually exceeded my expectations.

I have to listen to that. To be fair, I wasn't really that impressed with their first album. Hopefully the new one changes my opinion of the group.
