I think it's pacing. I can remember a night where I had:

three shots (2 whiskey, one grape motherfucker)
and then another two beers.

And could drive home. I mean, I had a ride setup and they looked at me and were like, do you need one? Nope. And my friends're the sort that'd tackle you if it was a drunk-nope. Woke up without a hangover and everything.

I like the idea of bars. I just hate them in practice. Maybe it's because the ones I've been to were always overcrowded and the patrons/bartenders were often dickish.
