So you'll have to excuse my humble-brag, but I see celebrities fairly often. I have met and interacted with dozens up to this point, and after a while you sort of get used to it. But yesterday that changed, and I had my first "geek out" moment. You might ask yourself, "twerp, what celebrity could possibly shake you in such a way that even you act like like a driveling 12 year old in front of Robert Pattinson?"

Well that answer, is Shane McMahon.

I have always been somewhat of a closet wrestling fan. Maybe it's nostalgia, maybe I secretly wish I was a professional wrestler, but I have always been a fan. I don't know what it is, but I find a strange comfort in muscular men who stand 6'6" and sweat a lot.

Either way, I was going out for a smoke break and as I walked out the door and lo and behold Shane-O-Mac was standing out front playing with his daughter. He noticed me looking at him, and for all I talk about how celebrities are just normal people who get lots of attention, when I went to say something all I could muster was, "You are the best ever..."

He responded, "Thanks man."

It made my fucking week.

TL;DR - What are your geek out moments? Is there celebrity/musician/athlete, who if you met them in real life, you would have a similar reaction?

Haha that's a pretty awesome story. It's so simple but funny. How old is Shane McMahon now?

I personally haven't met anyone famous before so I don't even know what kind of reaction I might have when meeting them.

I do get pretty geeky though when I watch some of the Marvel Comics movies and notice lots of the little easter eggs hidden in the films. Those are always pretty fun.

I got to go out on the field before a baseball game here in the StL, and spoke with Nomar Garciaparra for a few minutes a couple of years ago. Made my year.

But that's about it as far as the celebs go. I'm a total sports nerd when it comes to baseball.

(I know, unlike anyone else here)

Unfortunately I've never met any real celebrities or people I admire. I've only seen some at events I've been to before, but again, no one too special. Except maybe Hillary Clinton, a few comedians, etc. And I've met some "notable" DJs in NYC over the past couple years, but no one super big.

No one in particular comes to mind as far as someone I would freak out over, but meeting any celebrity would be pretty cool, I think.

I would have been the same as you, twerp. Shane had some of the best moments in wrestling in her era, and the dude isn't even a wrestler. He's great.

I've never really met a celebrity. I did geek out at a Louis CK show when I was in the front row and he made eye contact with me... ? That is oddly romantic.

Once the great Arnold shopped at my local Trader Joe's. He had a squadron of body guards and vehicles and he entered through the rear of the building. I only got a glance, but it was exciting. I think I was fairly young, too. T2 has always been one of my favorite movies, so even if Arnold is kind of a goober, I geeked out a bit. That's all I got.
