With the holiday season pretty well in full swing for most people, it would seem that everyone has plans to meet family and friends. What will you be doing for the time off (if you have time off)?
I won't be doing much myself except working until the 23rd and possibly a quick dinner with some people. Then traveling to Japan for a few days and coming back home before the New Year.
I didn't even make plans this year, and so far I've only managed to buy something for one person (my niece). I don't get paid again until the 22nd, so I guess I'll be doing LAST MINUTE SHOPPING! YAAAY!

I don't really have any solid plans as of yet. We may be going to my girlfriend's grandmother's house as discussed (Since we went to my parent's house for Thanksgiving).
Though my family might travel to Virginia to see the rest of the family that I haven't seen in a while, so I might do that.

I am drinking whiskey and wanted to get some really expensive bottle for xmas/new years and check it out and the fucking blue label jhonny walker crap is around 100 bucks at the cheapest place.
I guess I will have to drink my old 30 buck 15 year rum.

Not sure. My parents are in the midst of a divorce and we might very well be having two Christmases.

I don't know what I'm doing. I'll be with extended family in some fashion, at least. Could be nice or, well, not quite as nice depending on which side of the family we spend it with.

Sucks, Liz.
I've been working 70-80 hour weeks and that will continue until after Near Years'. But I'll be going to my brother's for Christmas day.

They say lawyers are 30% more likely than the rest of the population to abuse substances.
WONDER WHY.

Because our life is complete shit but we get paid well so we tend to indulge in bad things.

My best bud Jace from California is going to visit for a few days (since I'm already in Vegas), as well as my sister-in-law and her boyfriend. They're all friends, so they'll travel together. I'll give my mom the must-have Christmas call and send some thoughtful letters. I'm sure we'll visit the Stratosphere... and hopefully no one falls off.

I'm sorry, Liz (about the divorce).
Typically we would all go to my brother's house, but he and his wife haven't mentioned anything about a get together this year. Kind of odd seeing as how Christmas is a week away! We'll definitely be going to my boyfriend's parents house though.
Anyhow, my boyfriend already gave me my present, Nikon D3000. I got him all kinds of gifts, but he hasn't opened them yet...except the slippers I got for him just because they're warm and practical. :D

Yeah divorce sucks. So many friends I know have parents who've split. Even my wife. I never met my father and my mom made sure of it, so I haven't really experienced all that loss (just the "absence"). People with divorced parents are generally more apt to getting one themselves, so hopefully my wife and I stay strong.
ANYWAYS. HAPPY HOLIDAYS. //2cents

I dread seeing my extended family each year because they're all a bunch of pretentious, status quo douchebags. I'm very tempted to skip out on it, but I know I'd disappoint many people.
Other than that, I'm planning on preparing a whole meal for my folks and then go caroling downtown. That's the plan so far.

Got legitimately drunk for the first time in well over a year at the family christmas getogether. Red wine with 20% blueberry wine is so goddamn good, and I needed something to take my mind off the gluten symptoms I've been dealing with.
Woke up at 5am unable to get back to sleep, still a little buzzed, and got a sizable headache to boot. Least I had fun and got decent yankee swap gifts for a change.

Drank way too much scotch, i bailed out of my grandparents before they made spend the night, got home and downed a bottle of red label and talked to a couple friends on the phone.
My sister gave me a rice cooker for some unknown reason.

I didn't drink on Christmas because of my being depressed and know that if I drank, all emotional hell would have broken loose.
Tonight, I will drink since all is well. :)

Had too much turkey and beer and wine. Comatose at 11 when I got in, and slept a sweet-ass 10 hours. Turkey sandwiches all day today.

Damn. I wish someone would give me a rice cooker. A nice Zojirushi rice cooker with fuzzy logic.
