What and why is there censorship in FFIV when it was translated!?

As you already knew, some elements of the US version of FFIV was censored when it was translated.

What was censored?
Why the need for the list of censorship?

Do you think it was necessary? No? List and dialogue them all here in this thread.

I don't know exactly what was sensored but it was likely an alcohol or tobacco reference in the game. Nintendo use to be extremely strict on things of such nature. It was their policy to avoid showing those types of behaviours in games.
