First of all, who thought VD would last this long? Or even longer?
Second of all, this gets me thinking about all the other sites that have spawned from past members of AllRPG's Staff. This leads me to ask, which was your favourite? AllSquare? DireLegacy? PGNx? Ges' Site... Game See-ers (I forget the actual name)? Or now Vanish/Doom?
I think DireLegacy was probably the most fun for me personally. I was banned so many times that it wasn't even funny, and they started getting pissed when I got around their IP bans. Good times, indeed.

I could not stand the little ****er that started PGNx.
I thought V/D would actually last, and I really liked it. I was not expecting a certain asshat to be completely selfish about it all.

I had big hopes for VD. But I don't blame the stuff for not having it up anymore, I only blame Dylan.
VD was certainly an improvement from the original AllRPG in my opinion.

No one did. Least of all, me. He and I have had our disagreements over time, but I didn't expect this.
No worries, though....AllRPG will be reborn from VanishD's ashes.

AllSquare was great. There was something very unique about that place. Dire Legacy was interesting, felt more like an exclusive club. I guess in many ways it was. GameSeers had a lot of promise, I myself put some effort into designing stuff for the forums, plus banners. I was even an administrator there, can't say I contributed in any way other than design, though. Anyone know whatever happened to ShadowWalker, anyway?
Also, everything about PGNx was LOL-worthy. CoolJ was a huuuge dick.

Wait, wut? I'm behind but what happened? I enjoyed visiting V/D.

Ugh, you had to say his name, Jar. I thought I would forget it for good.
Oh, Shadow is always in the chat, Jar. He still is here at the forums but goes by Jun.
I could not stand the little ****er that started PGNx.
Yeah. He was... is kind of an ass, isn't he.
Also, everything about PGNx was LOL-worthy, except for Evil, who is my hero. CoolJ was a huuuge dick.
I know that's what you meant to say.
And it's been such a long time since he's called himself Coolj. I know him as Jose.

What was Vanish/Doom?

He was always nice to me, but damn, he just got on my nerves. Always boasted about what he had, all of the connects, etc.. Oh, well. I remember hearing that the site actually did or is doing alright. I never and will go there, though.

No no, I only want one. Maybe two.
But that's it! Thankies!
I really liked the vanish/doom site, and can't wait to see what Hyde does with the new allrpg site.

I wasn't expecting a lot from V/D based purely on the concept alone, but I didn't expect it to up and vanish (har har) overnight. What the hell happened?

The "Concept" wasn't any damned different than AllRPG, it was just more streamlined. What don't you get about this? And why is it between here and the Explanation thread you have such a ****ing attitude? I don't need it.

Sorry, I didn't notice that other thread at the time I made that post. I don't know what attitude you're referring to - I was just saying that while I had my doubts it surprised me to just out of nowhere see a thread proclaiming the death of a project I'd only just heard of a few months back. I think you ought to just stop being so sensitive.

Now that I think about it, I never went to any of them or even thought of checking any of them out. I don't even know what they were... websites or forums? No idea.

AllRPG would probably be best suited as not so much a news hub, but more of an editorial, opinion driven site. Video Game news is pretty well covered, even for a genre as esoteric as RPGs, so I think the best way to circumvent that is to have the focus be on a trait less satiated within the community. That isn't to say that news should be done away with, rather that it shouldn't be the main focus.

If YOU had just deleted one of the things you love most in the world for the sake of this community, to SAVE this community from another period of non-existence and idleness, I think you'd feel the same way. So don't ****ing tell me to stop being sensitive. You don't get that right until such time as you do something to help out, or contribute in some meaningful way....like say....be a poster people give a shit about like everyone else around here.
I'm not trying to be a ****ing martyr here, but what I had to do ****ing hurt....so shut your damned mouth, both here and in the other thread, about what I'm doing to help this place.....

We're hoping to have FAR more Editorials and Opinion pieces with the upcoming shift, so, yeah you're definitely on the right track. Volunteering your eloquence to help out from time to time?

Are you saying that, had you not deleted your photos, AllRPG would have went down but the photos would have stayed up? Because if the host told you they weren't allowed, it sounds like they'd have been going down anyway. So I have a hard time believing this was some sacrifice for the sake of AllRPG rather than something that, while shitty, had to happen anyway. I understand it was a difficult thing to do, but I don't see how it was a sacrifice for AllRPG. Maybe I'm just missing something, but from the way you explained it it's just the host's policy.
And I am trying to contribute in a meaningful way. If it matters, what DrunkSwashbuckler is talking about is pretty much what I was getting at - offering good writing and insight rather than being a run of the mill news site that simply links to other news sites. As AllRPG was it was not offering much you couldn't get elsewhere, that's what I was trying to say. Of course because I don't bother to coat my posts in sweetness I get melodramatic, over the top responses like this one. Great.

Unfortunately coating is needed on the internet, my friend. Tones and such are hard to distinguish if you're not putting umph into your direct thought.

You're an idiot.
Of COURSE the images had to come ****ing down no matter what, but I had a choice: I could either leave my stuff alone and have a certain amount of time to find a new host for everything, meaning AllRPG, the forums, and VanishD as well, would have all been down INDEFINITELY....Or.....I could delete the very website I've spent the last 7 years cultivating and using to identify what I do and who I am.
Which do you think I did: http://www.perfect-drug.org/
I chose AllRPG so as not to inconvenience everyone here, and you have to be a prick about everything. So **** you.

Melodramatic? Over the top? Why not try and coat your post with some damned knowledge and information instead of spouting off at the mouth like an asshole? I'm done with you. Keep this shit up and you're gonna work yourself into a damned corner you'll be trapped in.

It's a sad day when you accuse me of spouting off at the mouth or being unreasonable when you're the one in hysterics over a simple question, which I even apologized over being uninformed over. But fine, I'm done arguing with you. Live and let live.

Amusingly, of all of these supposed "spin off" sites, the only one I ever heard of was Vanish/Doom... And I wasn't all that impressed with it... Then again, I maybe spent 10 minutes with it. Shows how much I know...
