View Full Version : The most likely senario from a Game.

Here's a scary thought ... what game senario which you think could likely to happen in the real World today?
For example, Doom the game. We all watched Doom the Movie right? They did a nice potrayal on how humans experimenting on alien genes have managed to open up a whole new hell. And in similar concept, Scientists already stated that genes of prehistoric creatures which perserved in amber could be harvested, planted into embryoes of animals existing today and produce long-lost species.
So, what senario from the game could you think likely to happen, given the right circumstance?
Personally, I think FF7 is the closest thing we have to our own World. In that game, ShinRa Inc become too powerful because they have found a new source of energy and become the primary producers of the new power source. They become too powerful, produced their own military organization and finally dominated the World.
This could happen in our World. If a few billionaires in the World were to gather together in secret, come out with a plan to dominate the World market, we have similar situation like that of Shin Ra Inc.
Your thoughts, gentlemen and ladies.

Moved. I think this could be more like an overall game thread rather then an RPG thread.
Hmm it's an interesting question.
Perhaps the world of Mass Effect could be realistic in the future if there are other civilizations out in the universe. I could see a sort of galactic government running things and maintaining the life of all the citizens.
The world of Metal Gear, aside from some of the craziness, could be a realistic portrail of the world in the near future as well.

Is the World of Mass Effect something like Star Trek series?
Metal Gear ... forgot about that one. And Yeah, I think this could be a likely senario in the future. Already, we have Japanese researchers (and those guys in MIT) trying to come out with Bipedal robots which uses human drivers.
Front Mission series ... similar to Metal Gear but where armies of giant robots fight it out instead of sending hundreds of young men to battle. Future could be where selected individuals could be selected, trained and gear up in special robots to fight for their country. I love to see that.

I have not played a lot of games that are very realistic, but I think the only one I have played that could possibly turn out to actually happening would be something on the lines of Metal Gear. I do like the idea of this thread, too.

Kind of. It's similar to Star Wars and Star Trek, but has battles that are similar to a modern war fare. I suppose Star Trek could be a possible future, but since we were talking about games, Mass Effect would be the closest thing.
I guess we could say that CT's world in 2300 could be a potential future as well if we aren't careful with how we treat our world. Without the coming of Lavos of course.

Yup, Metal Gear could likely to happen. We have smart bombs (which always misses its target), automated vehicles, GPS system which links us via satellite communication and much more.
It's only matter of time till some joker decides to create bipedal war-machine. Just imagine, a single soldier in a walking battle-tank could be equalivent to 100 soldiers. He could march into a battlefront where his enemies could shoot him with handguns, and it could just bounce off him like someone throwing stones at him. Yup, it's just matter of time.
In my opinion, it is not because we are lacking the proper hardware which why Bipedal machines are yet to be created. I believe that the problem here is that we don't have portable power source.
I don't think gasoline could be enough to power a large machine like a mecha for a long time. We have yet to reach a stage where we could shrink a reactor to be small enough to fit into a 20 feet mecha. And even if they did it, the possibility that a mecha could blow up like a nuclear bomb could scare the crap out of anyone. So, power source is a big problem here.
PS : have you noticed that in Metal Gear games, they never mentioned what sort of fuel the Gear is using?

Well, with so much idiots for leaders nowadays and the way Global Warming is shaping the World, could the World of CT be so far off?

Actually, if you take Tartarus and those shadows out, it could likely be anyone's life.
Normal teenagers who goes to school, juggle daily life, relationship, trying to get a girlfriend here and there, have fun once a while and such.
I haven't played the game yet, but I have a friend who played it. Continously complaining how he have to go about attending classes, talking to girls and such.

I suppose the biggest reason why we could believe MGS to be realistic is the amount of detail and realism that is incorportated into the gameplay and mechanics. All of those weapons are as close to looking like, acting like and being like the real world counterparts. Aside from some bizarre characters and the Metal Gear it's self, most of the world represents what we can already see now.

Yup, it's possible from an environmental stand point. Except for a giant flaming stone crater like creature coming from the center of the Earth and burning everything down. :D

Maybe something like what happened to the SMT: DDS world can happen too!

Yup, just look at the Gears in Front Mission series. They have assault rifles, machineguns, shotguns, missile and rocket launchers and bare-knucles which we usually associate with normal troops. Their gears move just like our own machines (using trek wheels, plain wheels or just plain legs) and they are piloted by people just as a person drives a car.
Enough said - the most possible thing we have from the game senario could be the gears from various games like Xenogear, Front Mission, MGS and other games which has human driving large mechas.

Sounds like Godzilla. Today, we have tornadoes, hurricanes, twisters and freakish storms which serves as "monsters" which could railroad us, burn us up, wreck everything and make us fear Nature once again.

DDS? I don't see how we could end up inside a program. If you are saying that the program were to emerge outside into the real world, I don't see how that could be possible.
