View Full Version : What Controls You?

We are tools in a society that constantly grasps for the wind. We live in a place of sheer illusion and of cunning words.

We've talked about what makes you "you" in my previous thread, but what actually controls you as of now? What around you, be it family or work, runs your life?

Is it your job? Your child? Maybe it's your insecurities.

My penis, mostly. My stomach otherwise.

Is the mind. It controls everyone.

Unlike this thread! Ahahahaha. Hoo hoo.

I'm controlled by a need for income.

Luxuries. I cannot ****ing save money. I thought i was pretty good with my finances but lately I have been living pay check to pay check. I dont get into debt which I think its a good thing these days, but it doesnt leave me much money to save for things like out of country vacations which are always a nice expense.

I try not to be controlled by anything, I am a bit strict with myself.

But I'd say a soft mattress for me to lay on or a comfortable couch calls to me once in a while.

I'm controlled by a need to create....art, music, stories, etc.

I'm controlled by women.

Sad truth.

Letting my ex move in with me is definite proof that I'm controlled by women. Now I'm stuck with her till March.

Taoist philosophy sort of follows that by relinquishing control you gain control. In other words, the universe follows its own natural order and rolls out the way that it does. You don't really have the potential to break out of the confines of your lifestyle in any meaningful capacity, and even trying to do so you'll probably just end up experiencing dissonance and an acute feeling of powerlessness. But you can fully embrace your role as part of an enormously greater whole and by living your life effortlessly with accordance to the natural sequence of your life and heart, truly experience control.

So, what controls me? Everything. But by relinquishing yourself to the whole, and acknowledging that you're part of that fuzzy all-encompassing "Everything" sphere, you are ultimately in control to the full potential that such a concept can really exist. (ETA: This is where all of the clich? talk of "centering one's self" and "becoming one with the universe" comes from.)

Sounds like I'm tripping out or something but that's actually what I think. Also, anyone who thinks this is conformist talk should think about it a little harder.

Materials. I'm very materialistic. I have a job to spend money on stuff I want, mostly DVDs and video games, and I spend my days enjoying the stuff I buy.

Sad, really. Oh look, a DVD...

I am controlled by the need to spend time with certain people, by the time I devote to school and work and by other major issues that recently changed my life! :)

I really want to sleep with you.

I'd be willing to bet that isn't part of her Natural Order.

Nope. But I'll bet she's crazy enough to give me a try.

Finally Inari found someone who disregards the fact that oriental-ness can be transmitted sexually.

I'm in control of that.

Probably music. It controls me because I need to listen to it often. That's about it, though. I don't want to be controlled by anything.
