So who here is a fan of this company's games? I've played the first and second Disgaea, as well as Makai Kingdom, and Soul Nomad.
Disgaea was awesome, it was the best SRPG I had played since FFT and I was hooked instantly. When Disagea 2 came out it was no different. I even got a guide for complete abusal of the combat and migration system.
Makai Kingdom was a little different for me, due to the lack of squares and characters having weird attack lengths and stuff. But I loved the game. It was nice to include a different moveset for katanas. The attacks animations were quite flashy and entertaining to watch each time. I usually turn them off.
I never got to play Lupuecelle tactics or however you spell it. Soul Nomad was meh but I enjoyed it for the most part.

I tried to give Phantom Brave and Makai Kingdom a chance but the whole ring of crap and lack of squares kinda turned me off from the game. I dont really know how or why but that really made me just quit.

I own Phantom Brave, Disgaea and La Pucelle Tactics. I really enjoyed Disgaea, but never got around to finishing it. Played La Pucelle for about 2 hours before realizing that it's basically an unpolished version of Disgaea (I understand that it was released before Disgaea). I liked Phantom Brave as well. It was a little more free as far as not having a grid while still being a strat RPG (plays similar to Breath of Fire: DQ).
I'm interested to see what stuff will come out for the DS and PSP in the future.

Wasn't a fan of Phantom Brave either. I saw my brother playing it and it just wasn't my kind of game.

You probably have the same problem like me, you don't like SRPG.

Indeed. Disgaea DS will be awesome with it's new multiplayer capabilities. I also hope they come out with some more original titles; maybe not something so tactical would by good, and instead something that has more of a storyline.

On the contrary i like them a lot. Disgaea 1 and 2 are two of the most enjoyable (gameplaywise) and funniest games I have ever played and I hold FFtactics as one of my favourite games of all time.
I just couldnt get into Phantom Brave of Makai Kingdom, hated that ring of crap.
I am a big fan of Nippon Ichi games. I played most of them but not all. Phantom Brave was probably my least favorite of the bunch thus far, but I still had a good time with it.
but I still cant beat that ****er Pringer-X
Disgaea was the heart and soul that got me hooked to the NIS games. I love how they always bring the most badass overlord into them all too. Laharl is just awesome no matter how you look at it. I really can't wait for the realease of Disgaea 3 though. that MGS4, and FFXIII vs is the reason why I decided to go PS3 as opposed to X-Box 360.

I only have Disgaea and Disgaea 2. I might get into some of the other games in the future, but it's probably not worth searching them out as well as having to pay a hefty price. I was lucky enough to find the orignial Disgaea for $20 awhile back, long before the sequel had even come out, but I don't expect to have similar luck with the others.

It appears that Phantom Brave wasnt actually that much of a hit.

Personally I freaking loved Phantom Brave. Maybe not as much as Disgaea, waaaaay more than Disgaea 2.
Actually the first time I played Diagaea, I stopped playing it and sold it. I burned out I guess. It actually wasn't until after I played Phantom Brave and loved it that I went back and gave Disgaea a second chance, and loved it too.
Anyway NIS is a great company overall, I just wish they would stop using the same formula with their games. They need to take some more chances during development.
I liked Phantom Brave, but it also managed to be one of the most depressing games I've played in a long while.

Yeah I liked Ash. I wish they would put him in some more NIS games...

Maybe he'll be a secret boss in the new Disgaea for the PS3. They tend to do that in later games for whatever reason. They always seen to be top class at kicking ass too.
yeah but I would like him to be in my party too...which some of the secret bosses to become...but yeah. Ash was awesome. I really hope he is in Disgaea 3.
