So a friend of mine aquired this game last week, and we have been a having a blast playing it. It's way better than Guitar Hero. The drums are harder to play than I thought they'd be and the vocals are more fun to do than I thought as well.

So anyway, out of boredom I'm going to start posting vids of me, and my friends playing Rockband. I can't sing, you've been warned.

Dani California: I'm doing the vocals and my girl is playing the drums for the first time. I finally convinced her to play. I'm sorry for any ears my singing may rupture: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8HL2WRSNBtk Edit: It seems like Youtube is being retarded and may have failed the processing part and I'll have to upload it again. But I'll keep the link up in case it works later. I might need someone else to verify that it doesn't work as well.

Creep: This one works. One of the 5 sessions I played Rockband with my girl.

Are You Gonna Be My Girl: Works fine. My girl and I rocking out again with me on vocals.

Ballroom Blitz: I was killing people with the voice I use when I sing this song. You can probably hear some of it over the music. It's pretty humourous, in the sense of so bad it's funny. The song cuts off early due to the camera running out of space.

Dead On Arrival: I got my emo on in this one. Though I think the drums proved a bit much for my lady.

I'll post the rest as soon as they're uploaded. So who else plays this game or hopes to get the second one that's coming out. And what hopes do you have for the next game as far as new features and songs?

I love rockband! I played Guitar Hero a lot before, so I'm all guitared out. But the drums are amazingly fun :) I won't go near the mic though.

I play with friends every once in a while. I'm up to hard on drums, but some songs kick my ass.

I have absolutely no musical articulation whatsoever. I suck at music games and don't play them too often. However, Rock Band and Guitar Hero have become cultural phenomena so it's pretty much impossible to avoid them, particularly at social gatherings. I despise the mic, if I were held up at gun point to use the mic I'd just hum it along and try to hit as many notes as I could that way. Guitar I don't mind, and I haven't actually got around to trying out the drums yet.

You should really try it. It's pretty hilarious as well as fun to sing along with the song.

The drums kick my ass though. I can't concentrate on both the notes and the goddamn kick pedal at the same time, it throws me off.

I'll try to get some more videos up with me and my two other friends playing. One is pretty good on the drums and the other can play guitar on expert.

I've played Singstar. So I know what it's like. And that's why I insist upon abstinence.

I can do expert guitar, bass and singing :) I actually play drums, so it's odd that I can't expert them. Then again, I don't own the game and have only played it about a dozen times.

I tend to avoid the drums and let others take them, since I find them really awkward.

I played real guitar and bass, but have trouble with the Guitar Hero and Rock Band guitars after playing drums on rock band, so I like drums now (when playing fake instruments.) I can play alot of songs on expert and I have to say Enter Sandman is the easiest one on expert for the harder songs. Tom Sawyer is my personal favorite, I can hit about 90% of the notes. Thanks to Rock Band I've considered a real drum set in the future.

I like doing vocals.

Suck at everything else.

I worked my way up to 94% on expert on drums...I've only played maybe 9 times so I am impressed with myself.

However, that was probably fluke because I tried a different song and the foot pedal owned me.

I did vocals and drums... not the best best game but a great idea I have to say.

Have not had the chance to play it. I have no friends that I hang around with have it, and I am not buying it for damn sure. It would literally be a waste of money because I would have nobody to play with here.

Were you playing Weezer? :p

I think Rock Band is probably a lot less enjoyable to people who don't really like the kind of music they're playing. I know it's a lot less fun whenever my friends want to play a song that drives me insane.

It needs more Bang Camaro, too.

Oh, I forgot to mention, I can do vocals and lead guitar at the same time for most songs.

It's really hard at first, but you soon get the hang of it. It especially helps if you've hand actual guitar experience.

I can drum and sing at the same time, but only if someone holds the mic for me and the singing is on medium.

My best friend is currently employed by Harmonix, as part of the Quality Assurance team that worked on both Rock Band titles. As a result, I was invited by him to the game's official release party at the Hard Rock Cafe in Boston. It was an absolute blast. Finally getting to see the finished product in action was quite a thrill, as the project was quite an ambitious one, with the challenge of providing players a fully realized rock band experience with solid playability. I was very impressed with the game when it was unveiled, and while I admit to suck at playing it (as I do with Guitar Hero as well), I still definitely find it very fun to play. I just need more time to actually practice. I originally opted to not purchase the game myself, since the game does carry a somewhat hefty pricetag, but with the release of Rock Band 2, the entire package of the first game (with the exception of one guitar) has found its way into my possession. My friend gave me the entire game for free, to make room for the new one. Now I actually can practice.

Having recently purchased the game and a guitar myself I've been playing it a lot more recently. Currently doing the guitar Solo Tour on Expert, and I'll see how far I get doing that. Last few songs are going to be killer.

Anyone that still plays on the 360 I'd like to get a chance to play with. Just post your gamertag.

I love Rock Band 2. I recently bought the cymbals for my drum set, and while you may think having 2 methods to play the same note is redundant, it actually does make it easier to play since it's a lot easier to "find" the cymbals while playing a cluster fuck of notes.

Well the bundle is a bit cheaper now that Rock Band 2 has come out.

You know, I enjoy Rock Band, but I always end up playing it with my nephews who constantly fight over the microphone (the younger of the two, who dressed as Link for halloween, always wants to sing Bon Jovi...the other thinks he's an all star rapper...he's...well...not)...I'm always stuck on the drums because I'm the only person in our whole family that can hang on them.
I wish they'd let me try something else for once, but I'm the "cool aunt" and usually give them whatever they want, and just sit there and play the drums anyway...heh I'll pick out a song to play, and I still don't get to sing it. Poo!
