So everyone has something, I'm sure, that they eat that other people look at them strange and exclaim, "Ew that's gross, why would you eat that!?" So I'm curious about what those things are for you people...
I get odd looks when I eat peanut butter with my Fritos... Or when I add some peanut butter to my corn flakes...
Or how about fried okra? I've only met two other people that like fried okra.
Edit: Oh oh, and beer battered pickles!
What do you like to eat that other people find gross?
well I cant think of anything that people find gross...but people find it weird that I eat just about everything with ketchup.
but I know people who eat peanut butter and mayonnaise sandwiches... yuk!

To Mark:
EW! Peanut butter and mayo? Gag!!
Yeah, ketchup is gross, man. I eat it on my hamburgers, and that's it.
To Blue:
When I was a vegetarian, I would eat cheese sandwiches all the time, usually some mayo, mustard, cheese, pickles, and lettuce. :) YUM! I still eat them.
yeah I eat it with anything meatwise, eggs, and even on pizza...but only the pre-made pizza's that you get from the store because they taste like cardboard. its the yum.

I love fried okra. Not the deep fried in that thick batter stuff you get at like Ryan's, but home made southern style, rolled in corn meal and flour. Haven't had any in a while because I just can't make it like my grandma. Unfortunately she can't make it like she used to either.
I like to dunk my Wendy's fries in a chocolate Frosty, and I like to dunk McDonald's fries in honey.
I always put a dollop of mayo in my mashed potatoes.
My mom eats ketchup and mayo sandwiches, which I don't get. You have to have some meat on there some where!
I like ketchup on scrambled eggs.
I'm sure I'll think of more weirdness later.

Red Baron frozen pizzas are pretty good though!

I know that it isn't super thick batter, but I don't know if it's the cornmeal+flour thing. I just know it was damn tasty!!
I know a lot of people that do the fries+frosty thing, my friend Jeff in high school did that all the time!

Hey, so I'm not as weird as I thought, then! My son always goes "yuck!" When I do that.

Has he ever tried it? Because it actually does taste good, for some odd reason! I just don't do it on a regular basis! :)
Red Baron is pretty good, but most of the others need a good dose of Ketchup to make it better. its the Italian in me...I love tomato's and ketchup gives everything a good zesty tomato taste. I love Olives too, they can kick anything up a notch.

The urge to make a fellatio joke is strong, but I can resist.
I eat a lot of weird foods. I think the one most people consider gross though is anchovies. I eat them daily! They're amazing. I put them on pizza, toast, in my pasta, on salads, in quiche, and pretty much on anything else that needs some more flavor. I eat at least a tin of them a day usually. Yum yum!

Anchovies on pizza is pure love.
im not a fish person...unless its sushi...I dont understand why that is...but I don't like fish cooked.

I've never tried anchovies. I'm not a big fish person anyway, so I doubt I'd like it. Pretty much my only experience with sea food is Long John Silver's and home caught trout and catfish.

That's just nasty.
I'm normal when it comes to the stuff I eat, unlike you weirdos. :p

I don't even like sushi. I was told by a lot of my friends "Try the California Roll, if you don't like that, you probably won't like sushi." So I tried it...and I had to try HARD not to gag it back up... Bleh!
Oh another thing I get weird looks about---another peanut butter thing... I like to put peanut butter on my frozen waffles when they're right out of the toaster so the peanut butter starts melting, then I put syrup on it...oh god, it's so good!

Just imagining the smell of that, Dylan, makes me want to vomit. But hell, more power to ya for that. :D

I think that might have been one that my brother was trying to get me to eat when I had that California roll... But at the time I was too grossed out to try anything else. :(

Pretty much any authentic Filipino dish or condiment.
I brought a friend home to visit my family with me last month, and he ate dinner with us. Apparently it's really weird and gross to eat a banana at the end of your meal. I didn't even think about it, but sometimes at the end of meals we eat half a banana. I don't even mean just peeling a banana and eating it. I mean we put the banana on our plate and eat it with our forks.
that's not weird at all. It's like dessert. Bananas rock!

I don't really eat a lot of strange, or yucky, food. I haven't tried all that much I suppose.
A lot of my peers don't like green veggies as much as I do, though. I could eat a lot of asparagus, beans and TONS of broccoli. I also love dark meat, like duck, when most people I know prefer light.

I used to eat my fries with ketchup, and mayo...and I loved it. That's about all for strange things I eat. Unless you count heating up peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.

When I used to eat gluten, I'd put cottage cheese in my noodles and jelly in my grilled cheese. It was something my grandmother does.
I count okra, collards, spinach in almost any form (I'm surprised I'm not green), chopped liver, cricket tacos, corn fungus, lox (smoked salmon), eel, baby octopus, and squid among my favorite foods.

Mac-n-cheese + tuna + BBQ sauce
GAG!
Charolastra00:

Haggis isn't that gross. I've already scoped out a place to get it when I study in the UK.
I had blood jello in Chinatown. :D Steaming blocks of congealed blood. Beat THAT. ;)

Well I love good Haggis, and good on you for wanting to try it...but if you want it the right way, travel north to Edinburgh or Dumphries. Don't eat it in London....or....any other part of queen's country.

Oh definitely in Edinburgh. Both Anthony Bourdain and the bizarre foods guy have done specials featuring a few haggis shops.
But I certainly plan on trying to vegan "haggis" from a grocer because why the hell not? :P
And I'm totally psyched for hakarl in Iceland which is fermented shark and supposed to be the grossest food in the world. I'm pumped!

Wtf?
Anyways, I forgot about loving shrimp. I can't tell you how many people hate shrimp simply because they're the scum of the sea. They really are kind of disgusting, but they are danm tasty.

Shrimp is wonderful stuff.
I love it when Vegans see you eating meat or chicken though...
"Oh My god! Do you know what they do to those animals?!"
"No, but it's delicious...."

I try not to eat any meat that I couldn't butcher myself for environmental reasons- it's really selfish to eat red meat or pork every day IMO. In Iceland though, they eat lots of sheep and I don't think I could kill a sheep, so I'm not entirely sure what to do. :\ But at least if I pretended to be a pescatarian, I'd get out of eating singed lamb's head (which is a bit TOO gross for me).
