this thread is simple, you just state the name of a game you played, hated and why you hated it.

Sorry to pee on the beloved, but Circus Charlie was pretty awful.

haha Circus Charlie.
There are so many games to choose from that are terrible. I think one of my absolute worst titles that I own and actually played for more then 5 minutes was MLBPA (Genesis). It's beyond what you could call a baseball game. It's just horrible and there is nothing about it that makes it worth playing. "YEar OUtta There!"
Sentient, man that game sucks so much monkey balls.

Deadly Arts. Horrible, it still gives me nightmares to this day. I am totally not joking, not so long ago I had this dream and apparently I was stuck inside the game. It was the most frightening thing since I dreamt about that giant tick trying to eat me when i was little every single night. And the leprechauns. Fucking leprechauns.

Mage Knight: Apocalypse
This...
among a few others: Gaunlet Legends, Kingdom Under Fire: Circle of Doom (Really, turning a realtime strategy game into a linear dungeon crawler for the most part...fail!), Spiderman 3 (How they took the awesomeness of the 2nd game and made it into such crap is beyond me), and Superman 64 (This needs no explanation).

Although not the worst game, but State of Emergency was a big let down. It seemed like it would be really interesting and interactive having so many people on the screen and such but it was a boring, mindless run around and attack anyone game. I know a lot of people weren't very impressed.

At least we agree on something eh.
FFX-2 sux but Legend of Wrestlings (PS2) was worst. Unplayable.

I HATED Legend of Dragoon.
I was bashed before for saying FFX-2 sucked. I am glad I am not in the minority here. Though, I can think of plenty of games that are worse. You just need to look, and you see baby Jesus crying over the sadness that these games caused him. One game I have never played but makes me cringe at the very thought of playing it. Night Trap makes me a very sad panda. From watching a video of it on youtube, you can lose just by watching the first video. It basically says "YOU ARE DOING EET WRONG."

Doshin the Giant. You get to walk around raising and lowering the ground for forty game days, at which point... nothing much happens, I think.

Spectrobes. It's bad enough that we have bad copies of Pokemon like Digimon, But I'd rather play 100 hours of Digimon than a 30 minutes of Spectrobes.
There's too many to list.
One that I thought of immediately though, was FX Fighter for DOS. That game is the worst fighter I've EVER played.

I know some people are going to kill me for this but, WoW. I can't stand MMOs in general.

I couldn't agree more Polygon. The only MMO I ever got into was Diablo 2 and it was every weekend for like 3 months, so yeah, it was alright, but I hate MMOs. I prefer something that has an end to it.
I wouldn't even consider Diablo 2 an MMO. Just a multiplayer RPG.
I don't care much for MMOs, but I used to play Asheron's Call, which I actually enjoyed quite a bit. I lasted 8 months before dropping it. Also played UO and PSO, so I'd consider myself well versed at least, in earlier MMOs.
I'm actually a bit interested in FFXI.

Looking at some of these games I just have to ask a couple questions. Does the main menu make any sense without the manual? Can you easily maneuver a character from point A to point B? If you answered yes to either then trust me when I say your game can't touch Lords of Midnight 3. That game features controls that make the old RE scheme seem like the ultimate man/machine interface. Just traversing a room or choosing a character is an ordeal. Ten minutes was enough to make me want to put my head through the monitor.

haha Circus Charlie.
Too bad ... I happen to thoroughly enjoy Circus Charlie! When playing Konami Classics Arcade Hits for the DS it's one of the first games I choose to play. And I will play it over and over again until I win!
I'm sure many games from my NES collection are amoung the worst games I have played, but I won't pick on those because they are old and they seemed to make crappy games on purpose back then. In the past year or so there are two games that stick out in my mind as horrible wastes of my time, energy, and money:
FFXII: Revenant Wings (DS). What a stale, lifeless game. I couldn't get into the story or gameplay. I never finished it and I still need to bring it back and exchange for some money toward another game.
Rune Factory: A Fantasy Harvest Moon (DS). I usually like Harvest Moon games, of course this one was fairly different and I just couldn't get into it. I felt like I was wasting my time when I played it. I already got rid of this game.
Anyway, I actually enjoyed Final Fantasy X-2. It made me laugh.

I think I tend to forget the crappy ones. I played Yaeger, which started out quite nicely, but it turned out the only way to stop missiles was to shoot them down with a limited ammo rear-mounted chain gun while they flew at you dozens at a time and you were still having to dogfight other ships. I decided I had better things to do with my time... and that's saying something.

Realisim can be good...but too much realisim isn't.
I hated the fact that you had to pass the damn license test before you could even race. Takes away the fun from doing what's really fun in the game...racing. There's a point where realism can stretch a bit too far...I know it would be realistic to have the liscense tests in there, as you would have to take them in real life. However, they are annoying and stupid and better off not being there in a game, something meant to entertain you, not bore and frustrate you to death.
Also, there are the simulation of the handling and controls...my bro says it's for people who know how to drive well. Well, for the rest of us, could they not have implemented arcade style handling and controls? It would have been such an easy thing to implement, and I know it's not realistic, but it would draw more people to play the game that wouldn't otherwise.
Finally, there is the fact that you can't crash, wreck or damage your car in any way, shape or form. This is supposed to be the most realistic driving simulation, yet I can hit a wall at 200 mph and just bounce off it and all that happens is that I slow down, maybe spin out or get turned around. Supposedly this is because the car companies that liscensed their cars for use in the game didn't want to see their precious pretty cars get smashed up in a freaking game. So it was either take damage out, or the game would've never been released in its current form.
The first WWE Smackdown! game on the Playstation
After WCW started to lose popularity, THQ started to do WWF-themed wrestling games. When it did, even beginning on the N64, there were hints that they were turning what was a good system into complete crap. They finally succeded (so to speak, if that was their actual intent) when they started the SmackDown! series. I have no problems with the graphics, the entrances, or the sound in this game. I have the biggest problem however with the gameplay and how the game controls.
First off, they gave the game arcade style feel and controls. Big mistake. They also made it more like the actual show: you have to continually punch the guy before you can start doing grappling moves. I may be in the minority, but constantly punching a guy gets old fast. I want to be able to start throwing suplexes and hitting piledrivers right off the bat. Secondly, the game's A.I. has gotten extremely intelligent. Too intelligent. The game can kick your ass unless you're a great gamer, and I'm just average, maybe a little below. Mainly because of the counter system. The game goes like this: punch, punch, punch, punch, grapple, move-counter move-counter move, etc. You'll get countered excessively, and your counters won't work most of the time. Yes, it is a lot like the actual wrestling you watch on TV, but for a wrestling game to be fun in my opinion, it can't be realistic in terms of following how an actual wrestling match would go. I don't want to spend over an hour or more in a match, 15-30 minutes is plenty, unless it's a Royal Rumble-type match.
THQ threw out the window the great grappling engine they had with the N64 games and has replaced it with this tripe. I honestly don't understand what people see in this game. I guess if you like your matches in the game to follow how the matches on the show work, and you enjoy the actual wrestling to a be a chore and full of non-stop punching and countering, than this is the game for you. If you want an actual FUN wrestling game, then I suggest you stick with THQ's WCW games on the N64. At least then, they had the right idea.
These were my Amazon.com reviews, by the way.

Man, I love the Gran Turismo games. Seems like it's just not your type of game, though. They weren't perfect, but learning all the tricks to passing the licenses was pretty fun in my book. But on the other hand, I also love the relative simplicity of OutRun.

It sounds like it would have been better if the cars had been realistically smashed up, though. If realism's what you're going for, you should turn your car into a metal disc if you hit a wall at 200.

doom 3: it wasn't frightening. it was annoying. SSoC was scarey. doom 3 was forced.
paper mario 2: what exactly was the point in playing it? it had no appeal at all. it seemed REALLY half assed.
legend of dragoon: ended up at a point where i could no longer proceed because of my level and couldn't go back to town to buy more items. i had to stop playing.
these all three tie for my top spot.

Well, this is all somewhat true. While I will say that GT is more realistic than games like Burnout in the physics department, however, they aren't entirely real. I really think it would be impossible for them to cover every variant when it comes to the handling characteristics of every vehicle, suspension setup, track, and weather conditions. Now, weather or not it's for people that canor can't do that sort of thing for real I will tell you right now that I would not be able to pull the same lap times in real life as I can in the game. This has nothing to do with skill. the fact is that the cars just handle better, brake better, and are more responsive than in real life. Maybe I'm biased because I do both, but I do know people that don't race in real life that are good at GT. As for damage, they didn't because, at the time, manufactures didn't want them to have damage. GT5 should have damage as all GTs competitors are implementing it. I can tell you wouldn't like Forza or Grid either.
It sounds like you need to stick to NFS and Burnout.

I'd rather get points for causing a horrific pile up on the freeway than check transmission fluid and change brake pads.
That part would actually be cool too, if they didn't take out so much of the destruction that has no excuse for not being there.
