View Full Version : Is rape wrong?

Well?
Is it?

Yes.
Unless you're role-playing with your partner, and thus it is consensual... and thus it is a paradox! Consensual rape! It's actually quite fun.

I don't understand your stupid-ass questions. The obvious answer is yes, it's wrong, because it is coercive and a blatant violation self-ownership. Outside of this, asking a question about rape on a forum populated predominantly by male gamers is just asking for smartass answers ("No!" "Only if you don't use a condom!" "Buttsex lol!")

Well, yeah. Its wrong.
What's the age limit for it to be considered statutory rape?

Man.
Ignoring that.
There is obviously a subtext to this thread, which I'm sure someone (else) will notice.

Why not just say what you mean and mean what you say instead of asking inane questions like "Do we need to breath?" and then telling me that it's a thread about air pollution.

Lol, lmao, and various other meaningless laughter-conveying acronyms.
Anyway, by calling the thread that, someone was bound to reply.
Everyone's opinions seem to be correct, but why is rape (or other crimes) wrong?
Note in advance, 'it just is' isn't an acceptable counter.
Typing 'it just is' humourously, because I said that, is also unacceptable.
Nothing wrong with rape. I do it everyday!

The latter.
What makes it wrong? No laws included.

I already answered that question.

The obvious answer is yes, it's wrong, because it is coercive and a blatant violation self-ownership.
That does sum up our opinions towards the wrongness of rape.
What I am nudging towards is more like 'what makes something "wrong", when "wrong" is clearly a subjective moral judgment'.

The inherent damage both physically and mentally imposed on another human being.
EDIT: Actually since its both ethically and morally reprehensible, it is formed by the general concensus of a population, its an objective judgement.

I suppose it could be considered that.
What if the animal is raping you?

It's the whole social contract thing. Your freedom ends where another man's nose begins, that sort of thing. To keep people from infringing on our personal freedom, we create laws to protect it, though admittedly laws aren't always (Or rather, perhaps rarely are) made in the interest of our freedom.
Anyway if there's some deeper question here than what you seem to be asking ("Why do we perceive things as wrong/right") please come out and say it so we can have some more meaningful discussion than
What if the animal is raping you?

The inherent damage both physically and mentally imposed on another human being.Speaking as someone who was date raped at the age of 18, I completely agree with Phakiel's explanation, and say without a shadow of a doubt that it is indeed wrong. Having something taken from you forcibly (note: I was a virgin at the time)... I'm still disgusted at the fact that it happened to me, but I am mostly over the fact that it happened.

13(?), I believe. It ends at 18, obviously.
Is rape wrong? Ask Lag, he'll tell ya. *it'll be alright little buddy*

13?! Where the hell do you live? Alabama?
He's basically asking what's the age of consent. In Canada, it's 16. It is in Ontario, Canada anyways. I've heard that they were trying to lower it to 15 but I'm not sure if it passed.

Boring "subtext" aside..
Rape is wrong. "Date rape" is questionable.

Hm. What about rape as a war tactic?
Such as, US troops being accused of sodomizing prisoners during interrogation. If it gets the job done, should we be concerned?
Ohhh, some people don't like you to talk like that. Ohh, some people like to shut you up for saying those things. You know that. Lots of people. Lots of groups in this country want to tell you how to talk. Tell you what you can't talk about. Well, sometimes they'll say, well you can talk about something but you can't joke about it. Say you can't joke about something because it's not funny. Comedians run into that shit all the time.
Like rape. They'll say, "you can't joke about rape. Rape's not funny."
I say, "**** you, I think it's hilarious. How do you like that?"
I can prove to you that rape is funny. Picture Porky Pig raping Elmer Fudd.
See, hey why do you think they call him "Porky," eh? I know what you're going to say. "Elmer was asking for it. Elmer was coming on to Porky. Porky couldn't help himself, he got a hard-on, he got horny, he lost control, he went out of his mind."
A lot of men talk like that. A lot of men think that way. They think it's the woman's fault. They like to blame the rape on the woman. Say, "she had it coming, she was wearing a short skirt." These guys think women ought to go to prison for being cock teasers. Don't seem fair to me. Don't seem right, but you can joke about it. I believe you can joke about anything. It all depends on how you construct the joke. What the exaggeration is. Because every joke needs one exaggeration. Every joke needs one thing to be way out of proportion.
Give you an example. Did you ever see a news story like this in the paper? Every now and then you run into a story, says, "some guy broke into a house, stole a lot of things, and while he was in there, he raped an 81 year old woman."
And I'm thinking to myself, "WHY???"
"What the **** kind of a social life does this guy have?"
I want to say, "why did you do that?" "Well she was coming on to me. We were dancing and I got horney. Hey, she was asking for it, she had on a tight bathrobe." I'll say, "Jesus Christ, be a little ****ing selective next time will you?"
Now, speaking of rape, do you know what I wonder? I wonder is there more rape at the equator or the north pole.
These are the kind of things I think about when I'm sitting home alone and the power goes out.
I wonder is there more rape at the equator or the north pole. I mean per capita, I know the populations are different. Most people think it's the equator, I think it's the north pole. People think it's the equator because it's hot down there, they don't wear a lot of clothing, guys can see women's tits, they get horney and there's a lot of ****ing going on. That's exactly why there's less rape at the equator. Because there's a lot of ****ing going on. You can tell there's a lot of ****ing at the equator, take a look at the population figures.
Billions of people live near the equator. How many Eskimos do we have?
Thirty? Thirty five?
No one's getting laid at the north pole, it's too ****ing cold. Guys say to their wives, "hey tonight honey, huh, tonight, huh?" "Are you crazy? The wind chill factor is three hundred below." These guys are deprived. They're horny. Their pent up. Every now and then...BAM...they bust out, they got to rape somebody.
Now, the biggest problem an Eskimo rapist has, trying to get wet leather leggings off a woman who is kicking. Did you ever try to get leather pants off of someone who doesn't want to take them off? You would lose your hard-on in the process. Up at the north pole your dick would shrivel up like a stack of dimes.
That's another thing I wonder. I wonder, does a rapist have a hard-on when he leaves the house in the morning, or does he develop it during the day while he's walking around looking for somebody.
These are the kind of thoughts that kept me out of the really good schools.

I think there are cases where murder, while maybe not right, could be justified, but I don't see how rape is ever justified.
For instance, if someone messed with one of my kids, I'd want to kill them. Better hope the cops get to them first. And I'd feel totally righteous and justified.

I wonder how many rants Hyde has made that weren't his.
But yeah, Vlad. Stupid. This is the kind of shit that makes me hate all the art students on campus with their goddamn beanies and shit. Don't make posts while you're high anymore.

True. So if everyone was like Kurt Cobain there would be no rape.
