Characters from games that you have identified with...for whatever reasons.

What characters from the many games that you have undoubtedly played, have struck home with you? What are the ones who you can empathize with and identify with?

Locke Cole (FFVI) - Genuinely good guy who wants to help people and is motivated by past events to keep the people he cares about safe.

James Sunderland (Silent Hill 2) - This one is a little weird, but I know a bit about what James went through, sans the whole going through Silent Hill part and being somewhat of a dimwit. :) I'll just keep it at that.

Derek Stiles (Trauma Center series) - Derek is a bit of a goofball and somewhat absent minded, but his heart is definitely in the right place and he wants to genuinely help people...which are all aspects I can definitely empathize with.


So, yeah, go ahead.

Albel(SO3) - One of my favorite characters of all time.

Reno(FFVII) - Clumsy... just like me

Squall(FFVIII) - We share some qualities.

Vivi(FFIX) - Shy and clumsy, it's me in a nutshell.

Link(Zelda) - I don't think you can really judge his personality, but he is enthusiastic the way I see him. I can relate to that too.

Apollo Justice (Ace Attorney series) - Incredibly nice guy that gets trampled on by all the cool people around him, but he never lets that hinder him and his pursuit for truth.

Jolee (KoTOR) - Just an old forgotten [Jedi] outcast that still manages to retain his pride and dignity, all while giving off an incredible aura of badassitude.

I've always identified with handsome characters who must constantly struggle against the strife offered from being so darn handsome.

The only one off the top of my head is Justin from Grandia. I feel like I have a lot of his traits. I'm quite foolish and will rush into things quickly, especially for friends. Not really bad characteristics to have but they sure don't make you look really intelligent at times.

Kuja - Because lots of times, I feel inferior. Because lots of times, I try to make up for it and because sometimes, I get carried away. We have similar features, as well. ;)

Laguna Loire - I can be kind of goofy and silly more than often, but I love those who are close to me and would give my life for them.

The Varsh identifies with Doomtrain! Because The Varsh is a train load of DOOOOOM!!!


But seriously, The Varsh identifies with...

Seifer-Final Fantasy VIII The Varsh is all about him some Seifer. The Varsh respects him in that he is willing to go to great lengths for a dream that is (in his mind) great.

Solid Snake-Metal Gear Solid The Varsh looooves Snake. Almost to an unhealty extent. The Varsh likes the "Lone Ranger" aspect about him. He has an epic way of overcoming insurmountable odds (basically) on his own.

Ark-Terranigma The Varsh reeeally likes this character. The idea of being an outcast even when no one knows you're an outcast hits a certain chord with The Varsh

A great many. That's the idea of the protagonist though, isn't it? That you become it, or it becomes you?

Anywhoo, whichever way around it happened:
Cloud ((I know. Just do me a favour and make it quick *hands over the gun*) because of the fake life, and the loss of his mind) and Zidane (because he was positive as an infant and switched to psychosis pretty quickly when it was shattered, which spoke to my mood-swinging personality dissorder) both of Final Fantasy fame.

John Vattik, from Second Sight (sort of in reverse. Which might confuse matters, given the nature of the plot... but yes... in reverse...)

Tommy Vercetti, from off of GTA: Vice City (because sometimes everyone thinks of the simplest solution to 'irritants,' Tommy was just living it)
