It looks like the cheap pubescent version of the original Lufia 2; trying to be cooler and faster than the original, but really seems like a sad failure no one will notice or remember and an offensive homage to the great game Lufia 2 was.

I haven't heard very good things about the game. I personally haven't played the original Lufia II (only play Fortress of Doom) but I was going to get this to try out because I missed out on the SNES game. I don't know if I will or not, maybe after a price drop I think it might be more worth it.

As for the remake trailer dealie... If that's a remake, for true, I'm annoyed. Lufia 2 is a great game. Sometimes I wonder if developers even get why people love their games to begin with.

No way, if I am going to experience it I'll get the real deal on the SNES. That's the only way I want to have that game. I loved Fortress of Doom but I've never broke down and purchased the second game because it's always been hard to come by. I think one day I will find myself eyeing it up again and really wanting to get it and I'll go for it. It's just never come across my plate despite being something I've really wanted. Sorry to disappoint you Cyrus. :P

I like Lufia, but the series just seems to be in a spiral after the terrible GBA game which I couldn't even finish half way. It was just annoying for so many reasons from what I recall. I might have to try and play it again just for the hell of it, but I think that this would be the 3rd try now.

I am not saying it looks like Kim Kardashian's tits but it aint that bad, at least from what I remember on Lufia 2, its not that bad of a face lift.

I am not planning on getting it or anything, prefer to play the old one first.

Exactly. It's like FF6 and the surprising lack of attention it gets at Square. But I think most japanese rpg makes dont get what americans and europeans like, so they just either focus on themselves, or shoot blindly in the dark hoping to hit the moose.

Also I just realised L2 published by Square-E in japan. I find that surprising.

Okay, but really, Lufia 2 is high-caliber RPG goodness. You should not think of or remember any GBA or DS versions. It's like a better version of Fortress of Doom but with those adorable SNES graphics we all used to love with all the color and stuff. And the story is in the same canon. How could you not want to play it?

If you loved Fortress of Doom, as you say... You owe it to yourself to play Lufia 2.

A little over reactive there Cyrus, no? I know that Lufia II is the prequel to the events of the first game and features the story that leads into Fortress of Doom with background to the Sinstrals and Maxim and the like. It's supposed to be one of the best SNES RPGs out there but one of the most difficult to get as well.

As I said, I was planning on getting the game at multiple points but it was always put on the back burner. I wanted to find it but for a reasonable price and it has been hard to do. I will manage to track it down some day but I have no idea when that will be.
