Big RPG announcements at E3

What do you guys think we might see?

Concrete info or gameplay on FFXIII Versus? An unexpected revival of an old series? A remaster of something old but hard to find? Screens on the new Skyrim DLC? A new Souls game, maybe? (Please?)

...someone yelling at Operation Rainfall to add Mother 3 in there, since they seem to be so good at twisting Nintendo of America's hand?

I'm gonna say Skies of Arcadia 2 pops outta nowhere. Or Square finally does something right and decides remaking FF7 might help them out right about now.

I feel like the only thing that could really be huge news this year is a brand new RPG (that looks fantastic, of course). In the past year or two we've seen quite a few big-name sequels, so all of those are pretty much out of the question.

I'd love to see a remake of Koudelka, one that only includes the original's story and changes all of the gameplay. I still want to play that game. I just don't want to have to play it.

For the love of God, a SMT or Persona game for the PS3, I need that.

Actually I am not, a co worker said something about Dead Space 3 but I couldnt give a fuck about Dead Space.

Tomb Raider and Last of Us look good, but I havent seen anything rpg related.

When are the conferences? Man, i used to know the E3 calendar better than my work schedule in the past, now I dont even know shit about it.

I read something about Microsoft only showing something about watching movies?

E3 and the excitement around it has really calmed down these past few years, I'd say. There really isn't that much to get excited about coming from E3, and there's even less for RPG fans in most cases. All the big RPG announcements tend to happen throughout the year, regardless of big events like E3. I'm still waiting for some big RPG reveal that will make me love E3 again, but as it stands, I'm feeling more like Phakiel about the whole thing.

I told my co worker the same, like well they showed Tomb Raider and Last of Us but, well, I already knew about them moths ago, if they had revealed them at E3 it would have been different, but you got these way back. And then there are the ones which you know how they'll end up like GoW Kratos Kills Everybody or whatever subtitle they are using now, and the whole Sony Smash Brothers, then the things few care about (Vita) and no one cares about (Move). There is something about naval battle in AC3 but I am not sure about that, although I liked it in Skies of Arcadia but you know, it was Skies of Arcadia.

There is Halo but I am not an xbox ownr an also Halo=Snore.

I haven checked out the Nintendo summary, but I doubt there will be anything good.

Seriously anything from Atlus, please.

Haha, yeah. The God of War announcement was made out to be such a big deal, but I was like, "Really? This is surprising enough to actually get excited? There is no one who did not see this coming." E3 this year quite possibly has the worst sequel-itis I've ever seen.

The stuff I myself am most interested in has pretty much already been announced before: Tomb Raider, Ni No Kuni, the Persona 4 remake, and Skyrim's DLC.

What does interest me, though, are the 3DS announcements. Paper Mario should be good, as should NSMB2. NSMBU (the Wii U specific one) looks to be the Super Mario World of the current slew of 2D Marios we've had recently, but with the 4-player hilarity that the NSMB Wii had in spades.

FF Dimensions looks intriguing just for the fact they're trying FF on phones, since Chaos Rings was actually a pretty good little game aside from the funky battle system.

As far as bonafide console RPGs, though? Not much. Just a Phantasy Star Online 2 announcement regarding a US release would've been enough.

:/

This is an outrage. An outrage, I say!

They're making a Persona 5 so, like, I want to fuck everyone right now. And I love all of you. And I will buy whatever system I need to in order to play it, because Persona 3 made me feel like a kid again and Persona 4 just made me hard like a terrible beast. Those games were great. Great.
