Though I have yet to do a single thing with the level design feature, the story mode is a load of fun. It's definitely a step forward for the sidescrolling genre, with a perfectly 3D visual style that in no way conflicts with the game's 2D feel. Incorporating the modern day 3D element of well-implemented physics really adds so much to the game's traditional 2D platforming formula, as well as a welcome measure of humor and heart in its unpredictability. While I can't be certain that it's the first game in the genre to employ physics, it certainly does it with great precision; this is what sidescrollers have been waiting for. While playing the game, especially in those stages that feature moments of great speed, I often think of Sonic the Hedgehog, and how a game that functions like LittleBigPlanet is what that franchise needs, rather than Sega's last several poor 3D Sonic endeavors.
