Sunshine Cleaning Absolutely adored it. The film is amazingly well shot, the mise en scene keeps this fantastic ongoing mood which ties in sync to the story perfectly. I was not expecting it to be this good, I was actually watching with the intentions of hating since it was supposed to be directed by Gregg Araki but in the end got directed by Christine Jeffs. Still wouldn't have it any other way. She did an amazing job, a true auteur! Kudos Chris, Kudos. The film doesn't really have an evident lesson to teach but is really good to read into. The narrative can be considered dull, although I found it awesome and with a definite neo-realist influence. A lot of reading can go into it. Just wow.
As for Sherlock Holmes ... I don't know what to say. Insult to the original Sherlock Holmes films. These "bad-ass" characters just don't represent what SH is all about. I can'd imagine Robert Downey playing a violin... You just don't put the two together. And that wrestling scene? ridiculously pointless. Also, Jude Law should have been brutally murdered for ruining every single film he makes an appearance in. And him being Watson is a new low. I'm sorry Watson deserves so much better. I still can't get over the fact that Jude Law completely ruined closer too. I'm sorry Natalie Portman shouldn't be sharing a screen with him. I mean she is a fantastic actress.
