Manliness has absolutely nothing to do with physical build, hairiness or whatever. Not that a broad, hairy chest doesn't help, but it's more of a philosophy. Even women and gay dudes can be manly if they approach life logically and confidently.

I don't consider any of the guys I've talked to here "unmanly" in any way. I might kid Emanuel about his hair and stuff, but it's just kidding.

I have seen guys on talk shows though, like on Dr Phil. Those are ones I don't like- the ones who spend hours in front of the mirror getting their hair just right, shaving designs in their perfectly stubbly length beards, stuff like that. I'd be equally annoying by a woman spending hours and hours in front of the mirror worrying about her hair and makeup and stuff.

It's not the "manliness" so much as the shallowness of it.

I may have to disagree, depending on how you define manliness in a philosophical sense. Elaborate?

It's hard to put to words. It's why Adam Corolla and Jimmy Kimmell were more manly than Joe Rogan and that other dude on The Man Show.

Good point about the mentality bit. I'd like to say Jet and I have a lot of the same ideologies, thus the avatar.

.... Yet no one can describe this "manly" mentality?

You know what, you are totally right. I always felt there was something off with those two hosting after Carolla and Kimmel, and it wasnt only that that other dude that hosted alongside Rogan looked like a gigantic douchebag, but now I know what it was, they just werent manly enough. There was probably more manliness on half of The Fox's balls than on both of those assholes.

I'm more of a Spike guy. Now that I think about it, Spike is the paradigm of manliness.

I would say it's the mentality of indulging our natural whims without crossing boundaries, such as standing next to a dude at the urinals, turning down spicy food, etc.

I disagree with that. While I prefer ales and stouts, sometimes my manlogic tells me cheap is better.

Not wanting to stand next to someone is a matter of privacy and/or few phobias. And turning down spicy foods simply means you're not depraved since the act such as eating a hot pepper for enjoyment files under the category of masochism. Neither of those 2 things are exclusive to any one mental behavior.

He said spicy food, as in food with some kick in it, not jalapenos, not as in dares, but as in not saying "OMG I cant eat this totally, it has spices in it, OHHHHH where are my balls?"
