Yes, console owners, looks like you have another reason to make use of your PC. In an interview with Joystiq, Jay Wilson, Diablo 3’s lead designer, stated that there are no plans to release the game on consoles. That sounds like unfortunate news, but it’s not that bad. Besides, don’t we all remember one of Blizzard’s last entries on a console, Starcraft 64? Yeah, it seems PC is the way to go. Link to the full interview after the jump.

If you don’t remember, a good bit of the people that worked on Diablo and Diablo II left Blizzard and formed Flagship Studios, which put out the decidedly sub-par Hellgate: London. So, who’s in charge of the upcoming Diablo III? Well, that man’s name is Jay Wilson.

A quick visit to Blizzard.com reveals a cryptic new splash screen. For those unfamiliar with Blizzard, this generally means they’re on the verge of announcing something in the coming days. Anywhere you go someone has a different opinion or justification about what it means. Some have confirmed the presence of Frostmourne’s runes, which would mean that the news is about the Warcraft universe. Others have convinced themselves beyond all reason that this is somehow related to Diablo III. Continue Reading

Blizzard confirmed BlizzCon for this year. It will occur on October 10 and 11 at the Anaheim Convention Center. Expect Murlocs, Space Marines, and cosplay of questionable quality/taste. Blizzard Entertainment revealed its new digital download storefront. The new store will allow you to enter your existing CD keys and download the games at any time. Though World of Warcraft is not included, it is already possible to download the full client through your WoW account page. The service will also have a “beta lottery” that will allow users a chance to get into Blizzard’s elusive beta testing programs. Continue Reading
