In the latest Shonen Jump, two Final Fantasy IV characters, Cecil and Golbez, are confirmed to be in Dissidia: Final Fantasy for the PlayStation Portable from Square Enix. Also, Cecil will have the ability to be either a Dark Knight or a Paladin. More than likely a few more characters will be revealed during this years Tokyo Game Show. Dissidia: Final Fantasy will be released on the PSP in Japan on December 18, 2008.

With the recent announcement of the new PSP-3000 model, Square Enix stated today Dissidia: Final Fantasy will be released on December 18, 2008 for the PlayStation Portable in Japan, and also, there will be a bundle available with a Dissidia limited edition model of the PSP-3000 priced at 25,890 yen ($240). Dissidia: Final Fantasy is an action game based off of the Final Fantasy series which contains tons of very well known characters even including the Onion Knight. Unfortunately, there has not been a date set yet for North America or Europe, and the PSP-3000 bundle may only be exclusive in Japan.

Yeah, I will admit I played Final Fantasy XI Online for long periods of time. There would always be a warning telling me something like, “Death may occur after (blank) hours,” or “Hey! Get off the damn game and get a life!” Well, a guild named BeyondTheLimitation certainly avoided those messages one night.

In May of 2008, Square Enix released Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a King for the WiiWare, and so far it has received positive feedback from gamers all around. 1UP.com had the chance to interview Kenichiro Yuji, the director of the game, and both talked about many of the game’s features, functions, and possible future downloads. For anyone that has not bought the game yet or for gamers that have, it contains some very interesting and informative information. This announcement may come as good news, yet there is a downside involved for many other people. Square Enix’s DKSigma3713 party revealed some interesting information about the newest edition for Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children. Set for March 2009 in Japan, Square Enix is coming out with a Blu-ray edition named Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children Complete. The Blu-ray edition will include many goodies Final Fantasy fans of the movie and games are going to probably enjoy.

As I am sure every RPG gamer knows by now, last month Square Enix announced Final Fantasy XIII will be available not only for the PlayStation 3 but on the Xbox360 as well for North American and European gamers. At their recent party, Square Enix officially confirmed Final Fantasy XIII will not be on the Xbox360 and will stay as a PlayStation 3 only title in Japan.

The highly anticipated Final Fantasy IV has been released today for the Nintendo DS in North America. This game packs a lot of new features that the older versions had not. Updated 3D graphics, voice acting, and an improved battle system are some of the great things that have been added to this game.

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you by now know that Square Enix’s highly anticipated new entry in the long running Final Fantasy series is going mutli-platform on both the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. This was announced at Microsoft’s E3 press conference on Monday.
